Stephen Fry voicing LBP on PSP News

PSP PlayStation 3 News by Robert Purchese

21 April, 2009

Foppish British brain-box Stephen Fry has confirmed he will also lend his voice to the PSP version of LittleBigPlanet.

Earlier today, Fry teased via Twitter that he was "voicing a 2nd edition of a videogame". Just now he's revealed it to be the handheld version of LBP.

"I've come to the end of a lush voice-athon and yes, am empowered to confess that it was for a new PSP version of LittleBigPlanet," said Fry, picked up by PocketGamer.

Fry accompanied players through the PS3 version of LittleBigPlanet, of course - offering helpful advice and comedy quips in his inimitable way.

LittleBigPlanet will arrive on PSP later this year and allow players to create their own levels and share them with the community, similar to the flagship PS3 version.

LBP on the PSP? Oooh I might be interested in this...

Having said that as each day passes I like the idea of buying a PS3. Hmmm

Oh and I loved Stephen Fry reading the Jennings books!

Actually I picked this up pretty much the second he tweeted it, and posted it in the LBP PSP thread in the EG forum. But whatever.

LBP. Best voice work in a game ever? Quite possibly.

I absolutely loved Jeeves and Wooster (it's still on even today). Never sure why they stopped making them when they did. It was just plain funny. How Fry kept that wry smile even while delivering the greatest subtle insults a man could ever dream up was just masterful.

Sadly I don't buy games just for the voice work otherwise I'd be getting this without a single pause.

I thought Stephen Fry has reached his peak when he did the Argos Adverts; nothing else he's done since has been quite as on point as in those golden verses.

The first series of 'A Bit of Fry and Laurie' was brilliant, the second series was awful. Never understood why.

If you're that tired of Stephen Fry then I recommend that you hide in a cave for a few years. I mean, realistically speaking, how the hell can you be so over-exposed to him that you're "fucking sick of him"? He did a little dialogue in Fable, some work in LBP and does QI. All of which are easily avoided if he offends your "sensibilities" so much.

Unless you happen to live next door to him and he won't turn down his music.
