Steam BFBC2 grants MOH beta access
Oh, very DICE.
Owners of the Steam version of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 have been granted access to the Medal of Honor beta test.
Both, of course, are EA games, and both have multiplayer made by DICE.
An Xbox 360 beta is "coming soon", EA has promised, but we don't know exactly when.
A PS3 beta is under way.
Medal of Honor will be released on 12th October for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
Beta gameplay.

EDIT: Hmm, I gave it a whirl now, and I have to agree with the poster who said it seems like a repackaging of BFBC2. I don't see why this game needs to be made when BFBC2 is around, especially since the latter seems a lot better.

It's like a dumbed down MW2 (which I thought was impossible) with some mediocre graphics. It actually feels a step back from MW1 never mind MW2.
Yuck. Definitely a no-buy for multiplayer unless the game gets some major revision in time for launch. Back to BFBC2.

I then thought I would give it another try. The world cup was over and I do remember watching a game the day I was playing MOH so wasn't giving it my full attention. I generally cut a game some slack when I'm stuck with it and try at least to like it. I went on and the 1st thing that struck me was how empty all the serves were. There was like 2-3 games quarter full on the whole net. Uh oh! I thought, might be everyone thinks this isn't all that either.
Played a few more games and new - the way you sometimes do - that I would never play this game ever ever again. For once I actually looked up the re-fund button on steam which I have never done before and might never again. I wrote them a note saying I'd like a re-fund as no one else of my pc friends would ever get this etc... all true and they sent me a refund. It was very decent of them and the kind of thing I would expect from steam, I have a high opinion of the way this service in general does business and they did not let me down.
Unlike the new MOH game. I'm very glad I managed to avoid paying for this turkey and if you take my advice you will pick something else as well. You have been warned, but what does that mean? I certainly don't take advice on my buying from random dudes on the net either! - Be my guest, there is no way to learn like the hard way
But really - this is poor - not bad per say, just so very cut and pasted and average that if you have played any cod or military game in the last 4 years you have played a more advanced game than this..

BF is a -war- game. MW2 feels like you're playing paintball..
Erm and about this, I'll probably pass, it doesn't look too great.

But the most annoying aspect of all this, is that EA/Dice must think we "the gamer" have IQ's of around 3...To think they could get away with this porky is somewhat concerning...

Yet they'll sell shitload of that crap, and that sadden me a lot :[

I thought I'd give the game one more go (I was that bored) but it wouldn't connect... though the server browser gives no "connecting" message I could see or a message box that the server is full or the connection failed.
Clicking on every server in the browser resulted in nothing happening (my internet connection was fine as all online games working).
Awful.

You what?

and if the beta is bad...good? It means we have a lot of feedback to give in offering improvements? Surely? The way BFBC2 has continually gotten better with each new update? Yeah? Maybe take part in the beta process and not use it as an early demo?
