StarCraft II Mac beta in April

"Hang in there," says Blizzard.

Blizzard hopes to have a Mac version of the StarCraft II beta up and running in April.

The developer said on the Battle.net forum this was being worked on "currently" and for us to "hang in there".

StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty - the first of three StarCraft II games - will be be released in the first half of 2010.

The game's already being tested on PC, a beta Eurogamer crept into in late February. Our hands-on impressions of StarCraft II tell the full story.

Having played the beta has somewhat dimmed my interest in this. It still pits absolute n00bs against uber pro's. Most games barely get past building an infantry building.

Then you should know, Xerx3s, that Blizzard have stated that this is due to the limited number of people that are in the beta and that they have loosened their match making to ensure people get games quicker. This is more than acceptable in a beta imho :)

@duckncover, agree'd. Believe it says it when you first login?

Been playing for about a week now and thoroughly enjoying it. everything looks smooth, and although I dont think ive played a match thats lasted more than 15minutes, of the units ive been able to use, they seem wel animated and sound great.

I find iam getting attacked by large fleets of air units within 20 mins at which point iam still trying to get resources to start my army. I know iam not very good and i am more of a single player person when comes to RTS, but still be nice to atleast work my way up tech tree once.

Not blaming blizzard for this, as its totally down to my own ablity but a tutorial or skirmish mode would be nice atleast as i cant truely test the multiplayer when cant survive very long.

So nice to see more peeps and hello to our mac brothers, now if can have a linux client i can play it on my laptop as well yay.

Sharzam > the skirmish mode is only absent from beta I guess, there was one in Starcraft 1 and you could choose CPU difficulty

    Linux would be nice.

"This is more than acceptable in a beta imho :) "

The problem with that is that ordinary people just fuck off as they can't get a decent game going. It wouldn't be so bad if blizzard just unlocked skirmish so you could actually learn instead of being pulverised before you have a chance to find out what's what.
