"I sense a disturbance in the Force!"

This is the first effort by LucasArts I've been truly looking forward to in a very long time. The trailer of crashing an Imperial Star Destroyer using just the force is a good measure of how amazing the force powers will be in TFL.

Definetely on my pre-order list.

"The game is designed to be easy to use; its core attacks are context sensitive, and the team focused on the key idea of the player doing something cool-looking and relevant whenever they pressed a button."

That seems to be the whole point of this game. I never was interested in a Star Wars game before KOTOR, and, by the direction LucasArts is taking, probably never will be again.

the force was never meant to be that powerful, that's just ridiculous. That kind of stuff will ruin starwars I'm telling you! It will turn it into some sort of manga-like "I-am-so-powerful-I-can-destroy-WORLDS" rubbish!

Wow, what a lot of hype. Honestly I want to be enthused, but I hated the Jedi Knight games and this sounds even sillier. Oh well, you never know, it might be good.

Frankly I'd rather have KotOR 3 though.

"However, there's no sign as yet of a PC version, which the developers say is a possibility, but tricky due to having a game entirely designed around the joypad."

Why is that a problem? Is it really that difficult to add support for another type of controller? And anyway: X-Wing Alliance required a joystick to work, just make a joypad compulsory in this case (the wired 360 pad for instance is supposed to work quite well with the PC), I'll gladly buy one just for this game.

Bollocks to that Rob; I keep redefining 'really, really old' as I go along, and I have to inform you that I'm The One Whose Sacred Duty that is.

Right now, I make it about 67 and that's Official. Cast in Stone. Irrefutable. Absolute Gospel. Nothing to see here - move along please folks.......

/is considerably younger than 67. Old enough to remember the original release of 2001.

Wow. This looks like a pile of toss.

Please LucasArts, if you're listening, can we get a next gen Dark Forces III please? With proper physics based jedi powers and destructable environments with sustainable next code and great graphics? While you're at it, another X-wing / tie-fighter game please and one or two wonderful adventure games.

Please stop serving us horse shit and asking us to smile.

Force Push, Grip and Repel all move enemies around the room. Hmm not exactly imaginative powers there.

Same problem with Jedi Knight series, you only needed the basic Grip move then pick up a stormtrooper hold them over a deep hole or the edge of a building and let go Commando style.

Worked with the bosses too, except Boba Fett and his bloody jet pack!

When ever I read a forum about a new star wars game, or Lucasarts in general, almost always someone mentions the old X-Wing Tie-Fighter games.

My point is, I loved these games back in the day and it seem so did a lot of other people, so why wont Lucasarts make a new space combat game/sim????

Actually it was. If you pay attention to things said through the starwars universe both canon and not you'll see references throughout to a time when the jedis and sith were just that. Hopefully there'll be some justification along the lines of an atavism for this up until now unheard of nonentity being able to chuck star destroyers around. On the other hand he might not be moving the SD itself. Getting inside the head of the pilot or just force gripping the joystick would be two ways any person strong in the force could conceivably do such a thing.

On the other hand the game does sound like one of the easiest things I've ever heard of, fun sure but about as challenging as washing one's hands.

If it delivers what it says it will, this could be brilliant. Im sick of force pushes that throw 1 enemy down and wind them for 3 seconds. I want to throw a whole legion of stormtroopers through a mountain.

If there is a Jedi powerful enough to bring down a star destroyer, why was the Emperor faffing around with the relatively puny Anakin? Bullshit, if this is canon.

Have they not seen the excellent Clone Wars cartoons, surely they must have been an inspiration. If only the prequels had been half as good as those cartoons.

I just hope that when they say "superhero" they mean "comic book"... like, this is the Star Wars equivalent of Marvel Ultimates or something. If they're seriously trying to add a gritty (he might even have a tattoo!) super-powerful Force user to the canon LucasArts really have lost their charm. I blame the prequel movies. I blame the prequel movies for most things.

I like how 6-8 hours of single player is justified by the need to make sure people see the whole story. Agh, complete bollocks.

Couldn't be bothered reading all the comments, or the entire article for that matter... but why is Darth Vader's Apprentice taking down Star Destroyers and throwing Stormtroopers about..??

I think it's about time we got to kill Biggs! (Or I guess Biggs' daddy).

Also, there can only be two, a master and an apprentice.. so does that not matter anymore then?? No matter what they say I disregard the ENTIRE Expanded Universe stuff. It's the films or nothing, and the original trilogy is the shit, the new one not so much.

So its going to be short, easy, and with script additions from George Lucas? Added to that an out of context overpowering of force powers which will be encouraged due to you being 'dark side', all of which smacks of someone wanting to show off their destructible engine tech, and you have the recipe for a truly cack game.

The duelling sword fights of Jedi Knight was the best thing in it, of course you want to remove that for this game 0_o

Star Wars has officially blown since Liam Neeson uttered the word 'midichlorians', thereby turning a mystic Zen-like spirituality into a genetic Ubermensch cult (and showing that Lucas just found the word 'mitochondria' in a biology textbook and couldn't be arsed to change enough letters not to sound stupid).

Dark Forces ruled, but this looks about as enjoyable as that Star Wars fan fiction where Han Solo bums Luke while Leia gets gangbanged by Ewoks.
