Star Wars Clone Wars for 360, PS3?

Play with a friend as a Jedi or Clone.

LucasArts may be working on a Star Wars Clone Wars game for Xbox 360 and PS3.

Subtitled Republic Heroes, the game is in development at Krome Studios, according to Destructoid sources. Krome Studios was responsible for the awful Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Lightsaber Duels on Wii last year.

Republic Heroes lets two players co-operatively take up arms for either the Jedi or Clones. Goodies can pick between Anakin Skywalker and Padawan Ashoka Tano, whereas Clones get the choice of bounty hunter Cad Bane. More characters are expected.

Melee combat will provide the bread-and-butter of gameplay and upgrades can be bought along the way. Apparently droids such as the rolling, dual gun-toting Droideka can also be controlled.

Krome Studios reps have denied comment so far. We've asked Activision - LucasArts' European distributor - for comment.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars adopts an animated, cartoon approach to the George Lucas' space opera opus. The film was panned, as were the Wii and DS tie-ins. There's plenty of potential, though.

    The DS version got 68 on metacritic, with a 7.9 user rating. So 7/10 is 'panned' now? :/

    You say that but, some muppets obviously ran out and bought it now didn't they. Otherwise Krome wouldn't have been commissioned to do the PS3 and 360 versions!

    Just shows how starved for games the Wii brigade actually is.

    I'm not a massive Star Wars fan but I think you're right, it was in Revenge of the Sith that they turned

    /only seen them once so could be completely wrong

    Yes, and Cade Bane is definitely on the Separatist side. I suspect that they meant to say that you could play this from both sides of the war, which makes sense with them saying that you get to control a droideka.

    Yeah, exactly what I was thinking. The Jedi and Clones are both part of the Republic army.

    I'm a big Star Wars fan, and a Jar Jar Apologist, but I did really enjoy the Clone Wars movie. Didn't feel particulalry cinematic, true, but it was a fun adventure. Apparently the new TV series is genuinely great, although I've not seen it as I don't have Sky, sob.

    As a diehard star wars fan i can safely say that all hope is lost on the gaming front.

    The buggy, broken mess that was force unleashed was the nail in the coffin.

    Fuck you Lucas Arts and Krome, i'm going to waste my money elsewhere

    Krome also did the Wii SW:TFU.

    This, the new kids cartoon was...alright I guess but SW got raped big with this prequel stuff, kinda put me off SW, makes Trek look like Shakespeare. Doubt I buy this or any other SW game for a while.

    BATTLEFRONT 3 may change my mind LA..... you know B-A-T-T-L-E-F-R-O-N-T-3...........
