Star Ocean: TLH heading to PS3

International SKU for Japan in February.

Square Enix plans to release an International, PS3 version of Star Ocean: The Last Hope this February in Japan.

On 4th February, to be precise, say the pages of Famitsu magazine (read by Siliconera).

That date is important because International editions pack English and Japanese voice overs, and, given the region-free quality of PS3 games, that makes importing a solid option. German, French and "other" languages are also supported, but only in text form.

The only barrier is the quality of the game, which struggled for a weak science-fiction, of all things - the battle system and collect-'em-up elements were good.

What areas, if any, the International release will polish, remains to be seen.

I thought the battle system was terrible - worse than infinite undiscovery even!!

I expect a 6/10 game will remain a 6/10 game. I'm sure much of Japan will still be buying and playing FFXIII to care too much about this.

Yet another 360 "exclusive" bites the dust.

The game is shite, so they thought it would feel more at home on PS3.

Oh look, I can do moronic fanboy comments too!

In other news, replace '360' with 'PS3' for additional comic effect.

    lol @ bigglesworth.

It is rather ironic considering Sony have lost most of their exclusive games this gen.

I think people with xboxs are supposed to feel bad because at first it was the PS3 losing all its exclusives. But, I mean, getting the game a year after it was already released isn't much to brag about. :p

Nice stuff, I quite enjoyed the 360 version myself so wouldn't mind owning this one.
Of course they'd need more features etc to persuade me first, Japanese voices just don't cut it.

Considering the 360 has gained Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy, I honestly don't think too many 360 owners are particularly upset about losing a few mediocre JRPG's, that were obviously only going to be timed exclusives in the first place.

Notice the lack of comments? Not even PS3 fanboys care about this, it's nothing to brag about.

:) I'm definitely in the minority here, but it's the best JRPG I've played for a long time! IMO, it's up there with FF:X, Shadow Hearts: Covenant and Lost Odyssey as my favourite RPGs of all time. I have only one gripe, and that is Lymle. God, she's annoying!
