SSFII Turbo HD Remix for November News

Xbox 360 PlayStation 3 News by Robert Purchese

4 November, 2008

Capcom has said that Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix will be released on Xbox 360 and PS3 this month.

"You can start your salivating because HD Remix is coming to your console this November," a spokesperson for the publisher told us. "Exact date TBD. Don't hate me! Trust us, it's coming."

SSFII Turbo HD Remix will be sold via Xbox Live and the PlayStation Store, although there's still no mention of the price.

The game, a revamp Super Street Fighter II Turbo from 1994, adds crisp 1080p graphics as well as a remixed OCR soundtrack and myriad tweaks to the balanced fighting formula.

You may have played or seen SSFII Turbo HD Remix at the Eurogamer Expo, in between jostling for position in the Street Fighter IV queue. Not that we would have been doing that - we were working, obviously.

Head over to our Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix gallery for the very latest screenshots.

Good news marred by the fact that I've always been cack at Street Fighter.

They really need to get it out this year before SFIV hits early next year.

Played it at the expo, looked nice and played ok, however the animation does really look like cack. The HD upgrade made it look worse somehow.

Does this still look like a bad flash animation with awful juddering graphics? If so I'll stick to SFIII on my Dreamcast thanks very much.

The only thing I'm worried about is using a console pad thats D-pad is secondary to the Analogue.

When this baby was out on the SNES, the D-Pad was the only way of control, I'm just worried that a PS3 or 360 D-pad won't cut the mustard.

It's because they haven't added any extra frames, just up-rezzed... but yes, it does make it look quite horrible.

Hurry UP! I reckon this 'll be a 1200 point rip off too.

So much for online distribution speeding anything up in terms of game releases.

For a while I thought this game wouldn't make it out before SF4...

And it's definitely going to be 1200MSP, considering SF2 still costs 800MSP. When this game was first announced, the 1200MSP price point was unprecedented, but that's not longer the case.
