Under normal circumstances I'd be actually rather excited by this expansion. It's got a lot going for it.

But considering Blizzard's recent BS, crappy servers, lag, downtime and server shutdowns mid-instance (not to mention a new habit - disconnecting players only so when they get back in, they can be graced with death). Blizzard have somehow the past month or two gone to pieces and anger within the WoW community is mounting - we're paying to play a game and often we're not getting it...

Considering this expansion is a fair way away, I wonder - if Blizzard continue their current piss-poor customer relations (It's not our fault. It's yours. We don't care if you've done everything we've asked you to do. It's your fault. You play the game therefore it's your fault.), whether they'll have any customers left by the time this comes out...

    I suspect not...

"we're paying to play a game and often we're not getting it... "

To quote an old punchline - what do you mean 'we', paleface? In all the time I've played WoW, I've rarely been disconnected and I can't say I notice any lag. I will admit you can always find quite a few vocal dissenters on the WoW forums but if the problems were actually as widespread as these people like to make out, you wouldn't be able to move on the forums for bleating players.

Plenty of dissent right now though. The problems are just getting really, really common. Blizard really don't help though, their customer relations motto seems to be "It's the players fault, always!"...

Some servers seem to get off lightly though... I'm on Aszune. The past month Aszune has just been terrible - often having to queue to log into a server which states it's at medium capacity. Although one glance at the tech help forums and you realise you are NOT alone, that many others are having the same problems. The fault of the players? What, are Blizzard trying to say there's a mass conspiracy against them?

You say you've never had a problem? You're one of the lucky ones. Tonight we had three mass-disconnects on Aszune (admittedly a large raid was happening on Orgrimmar but booting EVERYONE?!). A lot of people sound to be getting tired of it. I am getting tired of it.

I'll go with the line that WoW is the most popular MMORPG and there WILL be problems. It goes without saying. But I'd rather Blizzard sorted this out... yes, WE are paying to play this game. We pay Blizzard money. Every month. And sometimes it feels as though we're just being asked to bend over and take whatever sh*t they tell us to...

You're lucky. Wait until you do have to get involved with their tech support... I'm sure there are friendlier dictators out there...

I play on Bloodscalp. I'm inclined to agree with Kami.

Not only was Bloodscalp one of the first created servers and hugely popular to begin with, but Blizzard continually fudge up and point new players back towards our realm!

Hello queues of 300 again. We thought we had it sorted after the recent realm transfer, before which we had queues of up to 700, but now it's a 20 minute wait each night before you can play.

The unexplained latency and the random disconnects that boot you into the queue are infuriating and patronising. I want to play this game, but it darn pisses me off the way Blizzard seem not to value their paying customers.

Some shots from Kharazan, Medivh's Tower, the new 5man instance located in Deadwind Pass. At the bottom of course, not the saucey shots of old Fiona the Bloodelf.

    Update:

Aszune is now technically full, long queues, blah lah. But people are still making new characters on the server. Which isn't helping. Where's the emigration that almost every other server seems to get?!

Thankfully, the last patch seems to have resolved some of the disconnection issues. There is still far too much lag from whence there used to be none, Alterac Valley is at times totally unplayable and there's still far too little balance in some jobs.

Point? Still not perfect. Lovely game. Lvl 60 Hunter loves his raids. But still trying to get over losing things like my wolf who USED to deal Shadow Damage...

Still. Sad to say I AM looking forward to the new content...
