It's for the Playstation. The FMV always shows great things. I'll leave myself alone at least until I see gameplay footage.

Are any of these new?

It really doesn't look that much better than GT4, more inconsequential details like pit crew and crowds, but that's it.

EG screwed up. They've mixed images of GT4 running on ps3 in HD as a test with images of Vision Gran Turismo the new game for PS3. The newer images are only a HD test not a true PS3 game.

well thats kind of what I ment, no shadow or anything to make it look like its really there, just looks like its been plonked on the top of another pic in photshop...

They'd kind of rushed that stuff out for TGS to show off the car models, the lighting effects were definitely not up to scratch, but got the general idea across, the cars also looked a little disconnected from reality. Thankfully they released this video a couple of weeks later, which is a lot more like it.

Meh. Hopefully, looking at the shots, there will be more AI racers. Oh, and hopefully some bloody AI this time.

GT is a lonely game, time for that to change.

I read on Gamecentral that apparently in Japan if you buy this game you have to purchase every car and track on it via the PS3 online system, they estimated it would come to around £217 excluding the price of the game and we thought we had it bad in Europe!

The point of this game is to simply sample GT5, it's apreview of sorts. You are not expected to buy everything for it, just what you want to. The disc itself will be sold for the price of the case and manual, and the rest will be downloadable, there will be some content on the disc aswell, obviously.

If Sony are succesful with GTHD's download system, then I worry that they as well as others will start having their main games follow the same structure. I feel though that is already happening, look at Lumines Live for example and Oblivion.

I think they will have 2 versions if am not mistaken. One with something like 30 cars and some tracks and another with less both. I could be wrong bout this but i'll research it a bit more.

That video looks absolutely beautiful. Only really let down by lack of any particle effects and any rally drifting IMO.

Would love to see an in-car view this time around.

Actually, there's an in-game track flyover video showing those lovely mountains are indeed 3D. The far distant horizon is a sky box, but not the immediate mountains.

T4RG4: No I am not taking the piss, I was commenting on the rendering quality of this game (GT:HD) compared to Formula 1 PS3. One is a completely new game and one is a quick attempt at releasing a title early in the lifecycle of the new console.
