These must be some pretty low quality scans, I mean I thought they were PSP screenshots only to notice it said PS3 at the top. Untold legends doesn't exactly have an amazing pedigree though does it.

I doubt Sony will be using this as a game it promotes its machine with.

Where's Snowblind with a kick-arse action RPG for both the PS3 and the PSP when you need them?!!!

It looks to be on level with the best PS2 graphics.

The problem with the first round of next gen titles is that they are not using the machines potential. The engines are still single or at best dual thread beasts and no-one is too sure how many high quality textures you can shift before memory et's tight.

From owning a PC with 2gb of memory and a 7800 with 256mb of ram, I know that the consoles both 360 and PS3 have been seriously underspecced in the memory department. As a result the larger the playing area of a level, the more generic or less detailed the new gen consoles will have to make it (barring load on demand level design)

I think the games will eventually be awesome as companies learn how to code around the limitations of internal storage but that's not going to happen in the first year. In this regard 360 will have quality games sooner than PS3 simply because it will have a years head start for the development community.

Hmmm these forums are never serious affairs so I guess I should say something stupid like bibble or "Best Graphics Eva!"

I don't buy that stuff about memory limitation at least not as an excuse for this kind of drabness, streaming from CD or DVD is not a new technology. The first gen 360 game PGR3 makes 1/2 a Gig of memory go a long way with a bit of streaming.

This is a work in progress though so we shouldn't be too harsh, I would just like to say...

Penhalion, 512 megs is basically what a game has available to use in Windows nowadays. On computers with 1 Gig of ram.

In the future with Longhorn it will probably be even less, even though Microsoft is touting that odd feature where a game can take over all the resources and basically putting the rest of the OS into suspend mode (since I havent read into that feature in much detail I cannot say how much of this is true).

Not bad. Certainly not good. Not surprising either, since 75% of the games released tend to be as unenticing as this looks. First party games are usually more promising though. I guess I'm just spoiled.

It's fairly obvious these are really unfinished shots. Just look at that table in the first shot, doesn't look right.
