    WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Bugger! I'm gonna be expected to write a guide on GameFAQs for this one... my fault for doing a guide for the first game...

That said, looking forwards to this one! Stronghold was FUN!

Can't wait for this one. If they give it a fresh approach in the same way Stronghold offered something original then this'll be top on my list.

Kami, i didn't know anybody else here loved Stronghold 1
i was quite fan of it , and rediscovered it when i" teached" how to play to muy son. it was a very nice game.
the bad point was that it was very difficult to select the units when big battles...

Yeah, I managed to (at the time, RUSH) the first complete guide out on GameFAQs. I still get mails from people asking for help for this game. Which is nice. I am a fair Stronghold fan and am glad that after the really average Stronghold: Crusader (I just thought there was a lot they could have, and indeed SHOULD HAVE, done) they're doing a proper sequel. Looks great too.

I agree though, selecting large numbers of troops for an all-out assault was a royal pain in the ARSE. Hopefully that may be ironed out in this one...

I'm not a strategy games fan by a long shot, but Stronghold was quirky enough to appeal to me.

this is the game i've been waiting 21 years for.
< has a thing for castles, nights and bloodshed

    *whoot*
  • commander dixon #6 8 years ago

    err.. you mean Knights ?
  • WoodenSpoon #7 8 years ago

What exactly do you do in this game?
  • Kami #8 8 years ago

You build a castle, get a good population count, build farms and varying stuff (Like Taverns, just watch the dunks fall about all over the place!) to keep the people happy, build up an army and go and smash, kill, maim, destroy and burn. When all the while someone else is doing exactly the same to you.

the coolest thing of the first one is that the archers, when they are not fighting just lay down on the ground having a rest, picking flowers ....
the single mode is good but playing it in local LAN is great fun.

Dixon - blame my K key, i did indeed mean Knights.
  • MoFo #11 8 years ago

Pirotic, shouldn't that post actually read:

Dixon - blame my ey, i did indeed mean nights.
  • Roarer #12 8 years ago

So, this is the modern equivalent of Castles then?

    I'm psyched for this one.

As long as it has the same crummy yet oddly entertaining voice acting, and the same way to mindlessly kill hoardes of poor wikkle bunny wabbits, I know where my money is going...

Looks bloody lovely - hope the charm of the original doesn't get lost in the transition to 3D. The voice acting and audio in general of the first one was priceless.
  • wattoo #17 7 years ago

is this the game where a bunch of guys with swords could bash down a tower?
  • Kami #18 7 years ago

    the very same Wattoo.

OK, not realistic by a long shot - but I'm not really concerned about realism. As long as it is fun - I'm sold.

... and I demand rabbits. And their squeaky little chirps when they die. Oddly entertaining when not much is going on...
