There was a news story and piccies of the Cube one, Razzie.

Did they actually sell any, I wonder?

So they didn't use the oppertunity to fix the ps2 controller by switching the left-stick and d-pad? Must be tricky to properly play Resi4 like this.

Sonygamer had shots of them - that's a challenge I see /hunts for old gallery

I've got no idea how well they all sold, it'd be interesting to see

Well, these shots were easier to find than I thought :)

Well I've got one of the Cube chainsaw controllers... for my birthday... from my friends. Ah, bless 'em.

By the way, if EGM is to be believed then the PS2 version of RE4 will have a proper widescreen mode. I wonder where they are going to take that extra computing power from.

I had to cancel my GC Chainsaw controller order due to lack of fundage. :(
My PSP turned up a day or two later so i wasn't that worried.

    Is it usable itmae?
I was going to just use it as ornamentation as i'd heard it was a bit poo as a controller.
  • itamae #8 7 years ago

It certainly is usable, but it's nowhere near as good as the original controller. The analogue stick is a bit loose, and the button placement is pretty weird so you often end up hitting the wrong one in the beginning. It also doesn't have rumble motors and the chainsaw blade doesn't move (boo, hiss).

So all in all it's a nice gimmick, but not exactly something you'd regularly play with. The 'shrine' it comes in is pretty cool though ;-)

I'll be keeping my eye out for it as a collectable then, cheers.

No. Lazy bugger didn't provide Linkage.

I've seen one of those controllers and that controller looks awsome
