It's X-Com/UFO for the GBA. I have died and gone to heaven!

It's Rebelstar Raiders for the GBA !!!!!

Everyone must buy this game, fail to do so and the world will end....horribly....and you'll all be forced to declare your undying love for George Bush.

To be fair, Clive... it doesn't look anything like Rebelstar. It's UFO: Enemy Unknown made 'slightly cute'. Look - there are the grey aliens and big flying saucers. And... everything.

This has gone straight to the top of my (admittedly rather short) GBA 'to buy' list.

It's not the Gollops making this, is it?

Yes, it is. Julian hinted at it in his interview with Retro Gamer the other month.

No, not a wind-up. RG did a big interview with Julian about his past and current stuff. At the end he said their current project was a GBA update of an 'old franchise' which would be out later in this year. This is it!

I have been wanting this since I first got my mitts on a GBA. Woot!

Pity it looks so cute tho'. Whilst it suits the GBA a bit better, I always imagined the speccy graphics to be 'gritty'. I'm sure I'll cope tho' :)

Judging from those screenshots the aliens are the Greys lifted straight from Laser Squad Nemesis. Which is no bad thing, especially if they come complete with Psykers, Warp-Gunners and Guardians as well as the Saucer and Sentry which are in the screens.

This practically made me drool embarrassingly.

Looks/sounds fantastic - shame it's not in the Laser Squad "universe" with good old Corporal Jonlan, Android Barker, etc, but you can have it all I guess.

And yeah a DS version with nice controls, hi res graphics and map on the touch screen (shock!) and online would be mind blowingly good.

Maybe that's the point.... they're priming us with this first so that our brains don't explode with glee.

I don't trust anything where the characters are called Ruby and Gordo.

All we need now are Hero Quest and Space Hulk ports for the GBA.

this will be tEh r0xx0r.....as long as it recognises the little guys facing direction rather than giving them constant 360 vision like in nemesis.

that fact alone made it half the game it could have been.

Laser Squad (the follow up to this game) is the greatest game ever. I played it on a spectrum emulator and its still excellent. I still cant beat android assault on level 7 :(

This could not be more of an exact copy of 'UFO: Enemy Unknown' (also known as X-Com).

Granted, they've cutsied up the graphics, but it has the same aliens, the same environments, the same cursor... even the same cartoons!

Somebody gonna sue somebody!
