Like I said, I don't know if I believe him, but I think it's fair to say that developers still haven't fully harnessed the power of the PS2. It's a complex piece of hardware, and just look at how far developers have managed to push the PSOne in the last couple of years compared to how the launch titles looked. There's a lot of mileage in the PS2 still.

I fully agree, but I was especially embarassed by the term "much" more power. I think this just is stupid Sony-propaganda.

That's what I thought when I saw the tv-ads for FFX, and guess what, no borders to be seen...
Btw, thanks, FezZ.

Well the PS2 games are like all games developed on PC.
When they run them on the PS2 developement pcs they can adjust the resolution as they wish, resulting in these pretty screenshots, wich never can be achieved by the final product."
Hmm. I thought that whilst developer's use pc's to write the code, they had to download it onto a special dev PS/2 to run it? Hence it would only run at the resolution that a PS/2 would allow ...
I would have thought, that they'd have rendered the pic's on 3D Studio Max (or Maya or whatever) using the models/textures etc that appear in the game.

Actually I have - one of my friends works for Wide Games (the people who are writing Prisoner of War). He brought home his PS/2 dev kit - his isn't a pc, it's a special PS/2. He *does* use a pc to develop on though. I even found you a picture :-
