not bad... but is this really still Prince of Persia?
  • pjmaybe #2 9 years ago

I guess there's a chance this might be more Prince of Persia than the last update was. That was just tomb raider in pyjamas!

That's on PS2! I'm impressed. Hope there's a game inside those lush visuals.
  • FWB #4 9 years ago

Well Prince is made of three polygons, so it should run smoothly.
  • BLACKSHEEP #5 9 years ago

Lush visuals or not, textures are not impressive (neither is the polycount really).

Eh????? are u a Gfx whore?

I just think it could be similar to ICO, did that need high poly, large textures?

Mmm.... interested in this one. Hope they do the original proud, though.

It looks a lot like AoD. Oh dear, not a good start then really...

If it keeps with the POP style of play, I'll buy. But I'm dubious about 3D remakes, sometimes they're great but more often they're just not up to scratch.

    I have my fingers crossed...

It gets a rave (p)review in the latest GamesTM.
  • Kami #9 9 years ago

Well, it's time POP had a comeback, but the lead looks a little heavily armed for the traditional POP hero...

Saw this in action today and it looks the bomb!

This thing looks beautfiul in motion. Really looking forward to this game, especially now with Deus Ex 2 and HL2 delayed. The Xbox version looks better ofcourse and will have some extras, Xbox Live features etc. Ubi Soft Montreal (Splinter Cell) is a good studio, they wont screw this up.
  • Blerk #13 9 years ago

Remember that the Xbox/Cube versions won't be out over here until next year, thanks to Sony's "jumbo bag of cash" deal with Ubi.

Think I'll wait for the Xbox version. Played the demo in this months OPSM2 and it was rather nice. Should look a bit better on the Xbox and Cube though. Saying that it looks rather nice on the PS2. Running on walls animation was rather nice. The opening sequence looked kinda ICOesque. All in all I am looking forward to this one. Played the original to death years and years ago.
  • BartonFink #15 9 years ago

Just had a look at the official site and noticed the Xbox Live logo up there. Downloadable content anyone.
  • Fizzy #16 9 years ago

In the US the Xbox version only comes out a week or 2 after the PS2 release, so Id wait and get the Xbox one. I cant imagine the release dates being much apart in the UK and Europe.
  • Blerk #17 9 years ago

Sony has a 'temporary exclusive' deal in Europe. The PS2 version is out in late November, the Xbox and Cube versions won't be out until the end of January.

From my experiences with this it should make the Galleon lot retire ... all that pish about making their pirate bloke move "perfectly" and the POP team do a better job in a 3rd of the time.

  • jellyhead #19 9 years ago

    Galleon...
    Galleon...
Oh, yeah, i remember it now. WOW that should be one special game when/if it's released. :)
POP looks like an almost definate new-year GC purchase.

    January it is then.
  • BLACKSHEEP #21 9 years ago

The PS2 looks as good believe me!
  • Isere #22 9 years ago

It seems to me like the team should come out with some pretty exciting news pretty fast because things are becoming stale. i myself am nowhere as excited about this one now as much as i was a couple of months ago.
  • Nemesis #23 9 years ago

Played this one from the demo disk and it's certainly looking good.

Just have to wait and see what the final game is like...looks good, but it's not my cuppa.

"i myself am nowhere as excited about this one now as much as i was a couple of months ago. "

Why? Because it has got worse? I think not ...

It still looks great and it is still on for a Christmas release. I am quite looking forward to not having every single feature ruined before release, for once.

Just to witness that girl with bow & arrow, cash is waiting :D
