This is the first Moto GP game i have been interested in since the first rather lame GP 1, but i like this hope they have sorted out some of the handling issues from past versions and the graphics look pretty neat :)

If you click really fast on the 'next' button for the images, it's like your own special movie preview of what the game will be like.

I just hope they sort out the crap frame rate!

OMG that's probably because it doesn't have a 60Hz mode!

Will they have the 125s and 250s aswell? How about a 'shoulder barge Gibernau' minigame too? ;)

    Bikes - Very nice
Tracks - Did they just port over the Xbox tracks and add some run-of-the-mill grass?

It might be my eyesight but I thought the first one was a photo!

Looks great and almost photo-realistic. Finally someone is catching up with GT4, and apparently applying the same asthetic values to track and landscape design.

Textures in GT4? Low-res? Have you checked the game out on a High-Def TV, or at the very least used the photo mode to render photos on your PC? Of course that game was compromised due to limitations of PS2, and the road textures were horrible. But that's about it.

@Talha: photo mode of GT4 uses a different level of detail on all the background (including higher res textures). I still love the graphics of GT4 even if they are not that impressive in driving mode (replay is better, I have the impression there is more detail in there too), but the game still sucks because of the non-existant AI, the lack of punishment if you crash on other cars and on most walls, and the potential umbalance you can create by running the races with a tooled up car (you can still win some races by just getting an uber car and cornering by running it on each and every wall). I hope they sort out these problems with GT5 because the driving is really good and the balance between realism and fun is very well thought.

About the screenshots: the bikes are great. The racetrack is meh. On a low-res TV it will probably be too much similar to the XBox version to be viewed as next-gen though. Which is a problem that many XBox360 title share unfortunately...

@neuroniky: Yes man I agree with every word - but my focus was the asthetics used by Polyphony that seem to be well present in this. In any case I totally agree with you about the flaws in GT4 - I don't care much about online (being a horrible driver) but damage modeling should be there, and realistic at that, otherwise there would be no POINT of GT5. And yes, I also positively hate the way you can get through a race either by being filthy rich or a bad driver.

Indeed I assumied that photo mode rendered the same level of detail and all the visual nicety resulted from higer res, but at your comment I checked it out and you are right. Kind of a no-brainer since I knew about replays containing more detail - silly me.
