Is that Peach in shorts i see?
Also, i'm glad Nintendo keeps providing us with original and exciting games based on their 20 year old IP.

Well I can't think of any BB games on the GC so it might as well be a Mario one. If it's in the same vein as mario Tennis then it should be ok. But yes it would be nice for them to try something different, unless they've farmed this one out to someone else.

They need to move on, it's stupidness like this that's stopping them from reclaiming thier former glory.

Im not sure that it is. When they come out with titles like Pikmin and Animal Crossing no one buys them. IMO they are producing a fantastic output, yeah its not a big range, but it is quality fun gaming.

Im sure this will be fun with a few mates round, Nintendo sports games normaly are.

Surely this is a case for attempting something moderately realistic instead? Give me XSN over Mario sports any day :/

See I'd pretty much say the opposite, never really enjoyed most tennis games but loved Mario Tennis. But then saying that I do prefer Tiger Woods to Mario Golf, so who knows?

Really i suppose it all comes down to which is the most fun to play, style/setting is secondary.

I've got absolutely no interest in normal, dry, baseball with it's stats and players I've basically never heard of. If this is in the vein of Mario Tennis & Golf, it certainly appeals more to me.

I get off on the fun, rather than the authenticity.

I've been meaning to import 1 of them quirky Japanese Baseball games for the Cube for a while, just because I think it _COULD_ be fun. I really haven't got a clue how these games are played today.

As for using Mario I have to say I would have loved to see them use other characters. Even 2 very simple characters which then make up an entire team would have pleased me.

Just as with Mario Power Tennis I'll have to see it first to buy it second.

these screens are a bit pants.. but wow, Mario Baseball.. talk about hitting the homerun with the creation of this awardwinning new IP.

Lads lads, cut Nintendo some slack

I own both Mario Golf and Tennis on the GC, and both are bloody great games - the familiar IP just makes you feel more at home, they dont scrimp on the gameplay in any way.

Hmm. I wonder what sport we'll be seeing Mario et al playing next...

Personally I'm up for a little Mario Syncronised Swimming!

    Metroid Bowling... :/
  • Dagon #11 7 years ago

Yeah. A Kirby platformer is soo welcome. Though that kirby-racer can fuck right off.

    A loser, yet so successful.
  • Liggur #13 7 years ago

    Ah you mean "Mariolympics"
  • firefly #14 7 years ago

    Pokemon Sports.

Not so much about active sporting as the management side of things. Catch a horse Pokemon and train them to run in some big race, or a dog Pokemon and take them to the track. Advance far enough and you'll be able to enter your bird Pokemon in underground cock fights, no wait that's what Pokemon is anyway.

Next? The Tennis game is next to be released.

This game is... looks cool. I HATE Baseball, but then again, I don't really like to watch golf, neither. But Super Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour Was REALLY good. And I do think that Metroid Bowling would be pretty fun. This still does look awesome!
  • glupi55 #18 7 years ago

Maro basketball would probably be funner than this (hmmm... Luigi as Kobe, And Bowser as Shaq.......)
    But, I'm NOT complaining

Say what you will of the graphics, but I think Donkey Kong's level is looking very nice indeed.

For some reason the DK backgrounds always look best in these games IMO. Smash Brothers, Mario Kart...

EA have a basketball game with Luigi, Peach, and Mario.
