They've got some good info on this on www.themagicbox.com. Apparently there will be 24 characters, including 6 new ones (3 of which are shown in these screenshots). It's being released on PS2 and NOT Atomiswave. It's being released becasue Sony America wouldn't let SNK Playmore release KOF 2003 on PS2 because it's 2-D (how stupid is that?!) so they've created a whole new game! PS2 won't be getting Metal Slug either! (Boo hoo!)

Problem is, SNK had a unique look to their characters.

These really do look like DOA2 characters... it clearly doesn't help that they are new characters and we've yet to see any of our old faves...

It's www.the-magicbox.com although they've taken their info from ps2.ign.com so this should be the place to check out.

I don't think those screenshots are bad, but
1. Soul Calibur 2 looks better
2. The backgrounds are dire
3. As Kami has pointed out, King of Fighters screenshots without one of the Kings of Fighters are somewhat misleading

Ah gotcha, theres a nice picture of big boobs woman up there, even bigger on ign. Nicely modelled face, gawd knows what went on with the bottom half and her hands...?

It's a first batch of screenshots barely showing 3 characters, so obviously some of them are missing form the spotlight.

Duh, but fighting game developers seem to be obsessed by it, far more so then is the case in other genre's.

I mean when ever an FPS is anounced nowadays they show off the phycsics or how cool the weapons are, stealth games are all about the new lighting technology to create even bettter shadows, race games: look how realistic our cars are! , rts games: now we can do even more units then before.
Fighting games: look, our boobs are even bigger then DOA3!

Ofcourse there's the expection but it does seem to be a strange trend.
