Looks horribly bland and boring compared to something like Chromehounds, IMO. Despite all the shiny rendering it still manages to look flat and lifeless. And that desert is about as detailed as something I'd see in Colin Mcrae Rally on the PS1.

I'd even go so far as saying it doesn't hold a candle to the Rogue Squadron games on the Cube in terms of looks, despite the latter's lower polycount. Go compare the screenshots right here on Eurogamer and you'll see what I mean.

yes but you tried to kill the baby jesus so you don't count. ;)

I reckon it is a bit flat but it still looks promising for a game in dev.

It won't get released over here anyway! Problem solved! :-)

Won't need to come out here if the games are region free Blerk :)

I've been a big fan of the Gundam games for years now, so I'm very much looking forward to this one.

These seem to be shots from the E3 demo of the game(Which was supposedly 20 percent complete), so it's looking pretty damned impressive with that in mind to me. We've yet to see the (Proper) city, underwater, and outer space stages from the game yet, and the level of detail in that Zaku close up is really nice, especially if the mobile suits take real time damage as the shots seem to suggest.

It does look good but reminds me of those crappy power rangers shows whenever i look at it

    Note to developers:

    Needs more crabs.

Massive damage shouldn't be a problem though :).

And again we have to watch crappy Asian Robots hack each others arms off with glowing sabres and repel incoming projectiles with medievalesque shields. What happened to the good ol' MachWarrior Franchise? The "Next Gen" should take the opportunities it's got and make a great game, starring MadCat and the likes, please!

Graphics are amazing, but the environment is bland, but then again the only gundam game I played also had bland environments but that was pretty fun. :)

The gameplay videos don't inspire much confidence, but clearly there's a highly passionate market out there.
  • Lex_Luthor #18 6 years ago

Gameplay videos have all been taken from a pretty incomplete version of the game though, haven't they?

It's pretty clear it's a bigger, graphically updated version of the PS2 Gundam 'VS' games, so the gameplay is likely to have changed little from those. Not complaining myself, as they were a lot of fun I thought.

I saw a vid of this the other day and I'm afraid the buildings all had that "Toytown" syndrome you used to get back with PS1 games like G-Police(I love G-Police, but things have moved on). It didn't look like a big mech in a normal sized world, it looked like a man-in-a-suit sized mech in a miniature village. Maybe it'll improve.
