What is the problem with doing a proper next-gen version?

So is this one going to be multi-player only, or is there a single-player game in there somewhere?

This a GC game? why Nintendo why?

People will buy this thinking it's a proper Zelda sequel, your just destroying the franchise with shit like this.

SNES era graphics on a GC?

These are the sort of ideas that should be reserved for online games. I don't know anyone else with a GC AND a GBA :(
However I wouldn't need to if they did this game over the net *sigh*

Looks like a four-player remix of LttP with some added side-on bits.

Just as arse as Tetra's Trackers then.

Note to Nintendo: It's damn near impossible to find four people in my
neck of the woods, all willing to play Zelda at the same time.

How many people to these GC-GBA link up games actually appeal to? I dont just mean "oh thats nice and innovative" but who will actually buy them for the feature?

Everyone has to have a GBA (and possibly a copy of the game). I'd rather just load up Halo or F-Zero X

Given the graphics, it's easy to mistake for a GBA game. Sadly.

Because EG couldn't believe for one minute that Nintendo would be so lame as to to port this with no fucking graphical improvement whatsoever.

They were wrong.

So do we know if this is multiplayer only yet, or what? :-)

I think it's GBAs linked to GC. Or summat. o_O

Somebody answer the 'multiplayer only' question!

Nintendo have never, produced a multi-player only title.. even Mario Party had CPU players, so unless this game is an 'extra' to single player title i suspect the CPU can take control of the other characters,

by logic, i've only ever seen 4 zelda's on screen, so that sorta backs up the CPU theory.

Looks like a lot of fun, needs single player though definitely.

A few places have done previews now, but nobody mentioned single-player again! Buggeration!

Anyway, after reading the previews I'm much less interested - it's not even a proper Zelda game! There's no RPGing as such, it's a straight 'collect all the rupees on the screen' arcade-style experience. So that's crap, then.

Cooperative Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past and (some of) you people call it shit?

This isn't for the mainstream, this is fan-service...so where are the fans?
Looks like great fun.

Edit: Not sure if the WindWaker style smoke puffs fit this game...seems like a clash of styles.

Cooperative Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past

It's not though, is it? It's a multiplayer arcade game using the Zelda graphics. If it'd have been a new 2D Zelda I'd have been all over it, but it's sounding like a cheap cash-in. Bah.

This game has two modes, one allows for cooperative Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past and the other.. not sure about that.

Am I wrong then?

Yeah - the game is nothing to do with Link to the Past. It just shares a load of its graphics. This is an entirely new game, along the lines of the Four Swords mini-game in the GBA version of LttP. No version of LttP features in this one.

The screenshots, for some reason, look like they've been composited. Note the blurry main screen and the crisp definition of the faces, scores and other overlays. Weird.

This game looks like great fun to me!
