    Dunno what to make of this film to be honest... Looks nice sure, if overly peppered with pretty boy bishies with 't3h k3wl w34p0nz' and Cloud standing around with his broody boots on.

    Final Fantasy has only worked in game form in the past, with the last movie and the animes sucking balls. I genuinely hope this is the spin off that breaks that tradition, but I can't see it somehow.

    One key difference:
    Advent Children has the FFVII team working on it, not some random people gathered from across various other teams.

    Gonzo were given free reign over FF:U - Square took a hands off approach.

    It was also 10yrs ago and so it's shittyness is irrelevant to Advent Children :)

    I'm maybe being a bit unfair to 'Spirits Within' actually. It's a rubbish FF film, but as a film in it's own right, it's decent enough. Looks stunning obviously.

    If it had been released without the Final Fantasy name attached, I'd have been a lot more supportive of it and it wouldn't have felt like such a 'cheap' cash in on the FF name.

    It's like the american 'Godzilla' movie. It SAID it was Godzilla, but you only have to watch it and you realise it has fuck all to do with Godzilla, and yet, if it hadn't been called 'Godzilla', you might have liked it more.

    No, that's a shit analogy. That american Godzilla movie is a pile of fucking shit no matter which way you cut it.

    Im looking forward to this; the story doesent have to be amazing, as long as its plausable in the game world. Ill probably download it fansubbed when it comes out though.

    Also I liked TSW, went to see it at the cinema, sure it wasent very FF esque but it was a pretty cool CG film.

    Agreed with Shinji and Tengu. TSW was quite an enjoyable film for me, even went to the cinema for it and really got into it. Then again, everyone I was with didn't like it that much although I was expecting more of the anime crowd to enjoy it than apparently did.

    its worth is just to see all the familar final fantasy VII enviroments and characters in so much detail, if it has a cracking story thats just a bonus for me.

    Find proof that is what they intended and I will briefly entertain the idea so I can counter such arguements :)
