This one verges closer to the PSone side of the visual quality spectrum. Cack textures, rough models, unfiltered effects and they're not even using the full 16:9 res. If this is real early KOEI, why even show it at TGS and release shots.

The thing about Dynasty warriors is the fact that it is very fast hack'n'slash. So maybe they want to keep the FPS high? Would like to see it moving.

By the way - EG peeps, must be time to get some graphics / colours sorted out for the new handheld generation eh? Looking forward to having to change your whole site to fit in PSP, DS, Zodiac, Gizmondo and so on? Thought so.

Trouble is other devs seem to be managing games with visuals closer to PS2 software and when you see this alongside them at TGS, with a shortcut taken in resolution it looks a bit poor.

I dont think the graphics are bad due to hardware, the colours are just ugly :P

Dynasty Warriors throws loads of enemies on screen at once. To be taken seriously, this game will need to do the same. As such, slowdown would be a killer, so something has to give - in this case I'm guessing, that is the graphical side.

Not that graphics maketh a game. There are some perfectly charming titles out there which even for their time were graphically pathetic. As long as it's fast, smooth and has all the fan-favourite faces (ahem. Lu Bu is an absolute MUST!), then it'll probably be a good reason for me to pick up a PSP. Note to self: never tell younger brother about this game or PSP will go missing for months on end...

All said though, my guess is they've been blown up a bit - not good really since that does more damage than anything...
