I think DB is confusing this with another project we are working on.

This game (DRIV3R) will have both planes and helicopters!

So far we have three confirmed 'air' vehicles--

and one plane, which you will be able to fly around the world (which explains all the different cities included in the game, for those of you who didn't already realize [is that really how you spell realize!?] ).

By 4-wheelers I assume you mean ATV's (all terrain vehicles). I'm not really sure, I haven't seen any or heard about them, so I'd guess there aren't any.

I know all this stuff from reading articles I search for on the internet. I'm obsessed wit this game, I don't bother looking for info on other games, this is the only game I'm really looking forward to playing.

Really, you think you're better at searching than me? And you say they haven't mentioned the car physics? If you were better at searching then me, you'd know that they mention the car physics in nearly every single article.

The physics engine is the same as in Stuntman, except optimized and refined. For those of you who haven't played Stuntman, it has the best car physics of any game I've played. Also, the damage is included in the physics engine too, so you can wrap your car around tree's.

Yes.

I don't think the cars will blow up in this game unless you shoot them in the gas tank (not even sure about that) or put a bomb on them. Otherwise, they shouldn't blow up. Hopefully they won't catch on fire just from fliping either.

I assume the cops will chase you on foot, but there hasn't been much info on the cops so I don't really know.

yes, they'll still try to run though, they're not the dumb type like GTA, but if they're anything like in Stuntman, they'll be easy targets.

Well, they've said there is no multiplayer or online, so I'm going with that to keep my hopes down so I won't be dissapointed about it.

Thomas, there are only 8 weapons according to the site, also only 3 cities, its not coming out on GC, the release for console versions is March 23, PC June 22, yes, no airplanes, it is not known how many buildings are enterable, there are not licensed cars, and no one knows if the burnout button returns yet.

Yes, you can shoot out tires and windows and leave bullet holes in cars, don't believe me? Go to ps2.ign.com, then go to Driv3r (you might have to search if the link isn't on the first page), then go to the videos section and download all the 13 videos that they just put up there the other day, January 14.

If you shoot them with a grenade launcher, yes, they break into more pieces though, its almost as if the car disintegrates when it blows up. I don't know if you can do that with bullet shooting guns, but I do know you can with the grenade launcher. Also, an article from a year ago said there would be plastic explosives, I assume its C4 (see also Metal Gear Solid 1+2), and you can plant those on cars, in the article it said the bomb would blow up when someone turned the car on (but I hope you can detonate it yourself like on MGS). So those should also be able to blow up cars the same way if they're still in the game.

I don't think you can shoot their heads off, but you can do head shots.

Yes, you can shoot people inside their cars.

I don't know if you can do drive-by's, so I wouldn't count on it, since in the latest articles they've been stressing that the games not about shooting people (even though they put guns in it anyway).

Sorry, I don't know if you can shoot while driving, they haven't said anything about it yet (but if the box cover has anything to do with it, I'd say yes, but box covers don't always tell the truth), or I haven't found an article on it. And if they did mention it, I'm sure I would've seen it somewhere.

About the peds, I don't know why we haven't seen many, probably either because they don't want mass killing in the game like in GTA, or after doing up the graphics so good, they can't fit much more in there. I've heard that they're trying to keep a high level of interactibility, but I'm not sure if they only mean in damaging stuff or stores. I agree the golf course in GTA was a waste of space, they should've at least made a mini game golf.

The past games were T, and I don't think Reflections would change that, after all, if they made it M, only 17 year olds could legally buy it, but if they make it teen, anyone can buy it (unless parents start complaining, and they probably will). Some things I have heard about them though are the techniques used by the cops, they will do the pit manuever (try to make you fishtail, they'll even cut corners to do it, so be careful when turning), they will set up blockades with spikestrips. They'll even try to block you off in certain areas. This is all stuff my friend told me he read in a PSW magazine, its a British magazine, so I can't get it, so I don't know for sure how true it is, sorry, but I'm pretty sure Reflections could implement all those ideas. I know tires can be popped this time around, so I'm betting on spike strips.

I don't know if Tanner can drown, but he could in Driver 2 (from standing in 2 feet of water, but he can swim this time, I assure you). He could even drown on land sometimes from a glitch.

I don't know if there will be money, they've said there will be plenty of bad guys you can steal weapons from, so probably no buying weapons or ammo, so far they haven't said anything though.

Heh, in Driver 2 they would simply run your sorry ass over.
I hope the cops won't be as aggressive either.
Different levels would be good, like in Mafia.
Do a minor offence and they'll give you a ticket, if you try to outrun them they'll give chase and will try to stop you by using tactics that actually work, not just like in Driver where they push the pedal to the metal and smash straight into you.
And finally, if they catch you carrying a weapon they'll open fire and set up road blocks.

I haven't heard about any animals, but if stuntmans any clue (even though you didn't have guns in that game so it might not) then there could be chickens, dogs, birds. One of my friends said in a screenshot they saw a crate of chickens. Its one of the earlier ones, it kinda looks like it, I'll post it if I find it. Hopefully there'll be small rodents and birds for target practice, maybe even ducks.

Yeah, it was Atari's move. I am beginning not to like Atari much, I think that it is possible they could go under, well, unless D3 is a big hit, but Atari doesn't really have anything else, not that I know of.

Yeah, they didn't want to put in hand to hand combat because its not what the games about. I'm also questioning some of Reflections moves on this project. To me, its not about tradition (some things are, like car physics, etc.), its about being the best game it can be, and they could easily add hand to hand combat but just chose not to, which will probably hurt it in the reviews and then sales because of the reviews.

I'd probably get fired quickly for telling top secret info on the game. Another possible reason for the delay could be to give GTASA as little of a chance of improving on D3 as possible, and less time between the games means less improvment, which would be a plus for D3.

I haven't heard if the cops will give you any tickets in this game. I would like it if they did, a way to get rid of unwanted felony. Of course if you did some felonies they wouldn't even give you a ticket, they'd just arrest you, like evading and then all of the sudden pull over, a real cop would take you down, not give you a ticket. But I would like tickets as a way to get rid of felony.

It seems I have less and less answers lately, partly because they haven't been saying anything new, I keep reading new articles, but they have the same old info (less actually) than older articles.

Over at the official forums, there is someone who claims to work at Reflections, but not work on the game. He says he deals with the public, so he doesn't know much about the game. I'm not sure how true this all is, but if it is true, there is ragdoll in the game, and there will be a playable demo next month in Official Playstation Magazine. I'm not sure if thats distributed in Europe though.

I don't know if the peds will fight you, but there is no hand to hand combat, only weapons, unfortunately. So don't start anything unless you have a weapon, especially a mission.

Well, there are bus stops, like for city buses, I've seen at least 1. I don't think there will be kids with the ability to hit peds and shoot them, even GTA didn't have kids. The medias gonna focus on if women are killed, or if children are killed. They somehow forget to mention though that most of the planned deaths in the games (ie missions) are killing male characters. Damn media. They also don't mention you can kill men. For some reason, they're trying to take away the whole "all men are created equal" thing.

About the size of the cities, I don't have True Crime, but I do have The Getaway so I'll compare D3's cities to London.

TG's London is 40 square kilometers. Thats about 12 square miles.

One city in Driver 3 is 3 times the size of that, plus D3's cities have more roads, alleyways, and open places.

It takes about 20-30 minutes just to get from one side of Miami to the other in Driver 3. In Vice City, it only takes 5 minutes or so.

Thanx, and its hard to tell by a cars speed cuz you can be in a scooter and it'll take 20-30 minutes to get accross.

Oh yeah, motorcycles can be damaged. Haven't seen it myself but a friends told me in a magazine he had all the shell of the body was knocked off a motorcycle.
