Hello there Driver®3 fans!

Good to see some lively banter between the dev. team and the REAL fans of the game(thats you guys), we really appreciate the input. I've just been out to our coding sweatshop in Singapore, and things are going fantastically well, with the team meeting their deadlines, since they know whats good for them :)

With this valuable input, we're hoping to make Driver®3 THE definitive driving/shooting/rhythm-beat dancing action game. It's going to have features that Rockstar didn't give their fans with GTA3 and Vice City, which was more cars and bikes. A game HAS to be better if it has MORE cars and bikes. Driver®3 has MORE cars and bikes than Vice City. Therefore, it will the the better game. It really is as simple as that. No hype. No false promises. Just MORE cars... AND bikes... LOTS of them.

Good to see the dev. team are now using their proper sigs. Make sure you to keep up some form of consistency, so that the fans can ask the right people the appropriate questions. No use people asking FWB about the cops in the game, he's more knowledgeable about Jaffa cakes and Colombia's finest. Also, I'm pleading to the dev. team to let the fans have their say, and don't post too much as it's hard to see the real gems that some of the guys who have been posting have come up with. Really good stuff.

So, from me, keep up the good work guys.

Yes, Driver®3 WILL have shooting in it, just no blood. When you shoot people, there won't be any blood gushing out of them. We know this isn't as realistic as we'd like it to be, but it had to be done in order to get the age restriction rating down to "AGES 0+".

We're hoping to get an "All Ages" rating, so we can broaden the target audience to include the younger age groups. We want kids playing our game, because we feel it teaches them important life skills, like learning how to drive and shoot at the same time. Also, the non-linear mission structure teaches kids to make their own decisions, problem-solving, etc., therefore we feel we can convince parents to buy this game for their kids knowing full well that their children are not only having fun, they're also learning at the same time.

I spent this entire weekend cataloging Segway websites for research purposes on the Driver 3 project. otto (our boss) can have quite the temper if you don't get things done on time and on top of filling in everyone's biscuit orders, I got this job thrown on me, hence I am looking for an assistant. Its a shame you're too young.

Exactly. Providing such valuable and accurate info takes a lot of time and effort, and we're only trying to give the fans some insight into the development of the game they love so much. If this negative attitude towards the dev. team continues, I fear that I shall have to pull them off this forum, and hand it back to the public so that they can speculate as to what will be in the final game, and not hear about it first-hand from the actual dev. team.

pjmaybe , maybe you would be a little more genuine if the info you gave was more valuable than you claim. Any dumbass can go to a different site, and retrieve informantion on a game. My coffee-related remarks were directed at other members on the team, asking what I could get them. Its not my fault if you read it. Apart from that all I've done is discuss Driver 3, and now, since I head up the corresponding research department, the implementation of the Segaway.

I work for SG Global Entertainment, its the only job i ever had for a gaming company.

It seems you could learn alot from me, and others here. Try and communicate with your fans a bit more. Find out what they want to see, get them involved. Hell, I even was prepared to offer one of them a job. That's dedication to the consumer.

Anywayz..Nontheless you say this is for the fans.. but if you look at most of the posts. There not from fans. I would just like to keep discussion on the game. So with the first game related question for awhile... Approximately how many hours will it take to beat Driver 3 once it was released?

A few points to clarify

1) There will be at least 250-300 NPC cars in each city. These will all have their own agendas and advanced AI routines. Cut a driver up, and at the next set of traffic lights he may well haul you out of your car and bust your lip

2) Day and Night will be strictly handled in real time, with the addition of the eyetoy camera (for the PS2 release) the camera will actually "sense" the light levels and adjust the light in the game accordingly (so if you stick your eyetoy camera near a window, the game will be able to tell what time of day it is)

3) The game will take between 70-100 hours to complete but this doesn't include all the little side stories that the new female character must undertake (including a rather hazardous "grocery shop" where all the newest produce has been placed towards the back of shelves)

4) More screenshots will be available at http://www.gametards.co.uk very soon. We're planning something special for the run-up to release so watch out for some cool promotional goodies including Driver 3/4 mugs, keyrings, mustard-coloured Y-fronts and cool bumper stickers to bring out the redneck in you.

Well Amaarss , if you have ever played Stuntman, I would guess some of the cars on that game may also be featured in Driver 3... like the tuc-tuc.

If I may add, I think it would be badass if they included the Monster Truck from Stuntman.. but i doubt it.

Driver 3/4 Won't be a short game. Oh no. If you think Vice City was long, Driver 3/4 will be even longer. In fact the game takes place in real-time over an entire YEAR (game time, obviously it won't take a year to complete unless you're useless). The PS2 version will use a pseudo "real time clock" which updates from information stored on the memory card. The Xbox version will use the Xbox's real time clock (so make sure you set it, kids!)

It's crazy how time flies eh? I bet everyone's very happy to be getting closer and closer to Driver 3's release date. I know we are!

A short update on what we've been doing lately:
- first of all, there's some new screenshots to admire (look up).
- second, we've been thinking long and hard about how to increase the replayability of our game, and we came up with a few novel ideas.

One of these ideas is to include hidden codes in the game (and in the upcoming movie, like they did with The Hulk), that you have to enter in specific places in the game (for instance, at an ATM machine in a strip-joint).

I'm very pleased to be able to provide you lot with an exclusive hint for a very powerful cheat code. Keep this in mind, and don't forget to try and use it in the game when you've finally bought it.

What's the hint? Well... Look closely at this picture...
