Well if I was a big star I wouldn't want my games to suck. Might be right.

I'm liking the detail here. A lot of effort into getting the faces right for once as well. The lighting looks wonderful. Any idea what the genre or storyline of this game are?

I think it's meant to be before Pitch Black, when he gets caught and all that.

This is the second part och the Riddick story if I'm not mistaken. First is the new movie coming out soon, then there's this, and THEN there's Pitch Black.

Strange how most of the textures in the first shot are so much sharper than any in the other shots.

From the official site:

Become Riddick and break out of the galaxy's most deadly prison in this compelling 1st person action experience — The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay.

Set before the events of both Universal Pictures' upcoming summer release, The Chronicles of Riddick, starring Vin Diesel, and the 2000 breakout hit Pitch Black, which first introduced Diesel as enigmatic anti-hero Riddick, the game tells the story of Riddick's dramatic escape from the previously inescapable triple max security slam Butcher Bay, home to the most violent prisoners in the universe.

This was developed by Starbreeze, not Tigon (Vin Diesel's company), but the latter nevertheless managed to do a deal - presumably because of the leverage afforded by the fact that Starbreeze and Vivendi really needed his voice - to get Tigon's logo slapped all over the promotion and game box etc.

There's another rather nice screenshot here, posted at the Team XBox forum yesterday by Matthies from Starbreeze before he went off to E3.

The game's gold now btw, and is coming out in the US on June 1st. They've also had a demo in america already. No details about the European release yet, but SBZ have said we'll be getting the demo although they weren't sure which issue of OXM (oh dear, this means I'll be compelled to waste money on that godawful magazine again just for a demo).

Apparently the game is "about 60% shooter, 20% stealth and 20% adventure", and the first review so far is from XBN magazine in the US who gave it a 9\10. There's some nice little gameplay movies over at IGN.

Looks really good. Shame about the game title though.
