Ah, that's more like it! These look quite good, actually. Those Xbox shots are arse - why'd they even bother releasing them? o_O

That's what I thought. Admittedly, I've only found these 10 minutes ago as well, so I was basing my camera view comment on the Xbox shots.

Really looks quite nice, the dog, the windmill, the detailed interior of the hut in shot 3. Not bad at all.

I really, really hope they do this one justice. I can well do without another great memory ruining for me.

Same here, but I am quite optimistic - they have got the BGDA/CoN engine at their disposal and should thus be able to really concentrate on the gameplay, and with Fargo on board, it could really become something special.

Let's just hope the engine isn't too limiting.

Well, this could actually be my line (complaining that they turn it into a simplified hack and slash game).

Let me say it this way: it could be something special within the limits of the (very enjoyable) genre they've restricted themselves too.

Form what I heard about the game, it shows a lot of promise. There's no reason yet to believe it will be a stinker like Fallout:BoS was (which I haven't played, admittedly).

    I have.

And if I can help it, I will never do so again.

I'm a bit worried, all these beautiful shots show is action sequences, no stat screens, no NPC interaction, no RPG elements. *runs to take a look at the Xbox shots*

    I am afraid you'll return disappointed. ;-)

There's allegedly a dialogue system in the game where you don't see what exactly your character will say, but it let's you choose between different "moods" like angry, threatening, friendly etc. etc.

I really hope it has more RPG elements than BG:DA or CoN (as enjoyable as they are), although it uses the same engine.
  • valli #9 8 years ago

Yes, nothing to see there! The engine looks very competent, CoN looks fantastic. I just hope they've got enough processor time left for something more than monitoring the (X) button! =)

Lost some major respect for old Fargo when he decided to do this, especially as tribute stuff like Devil Whisky has better humor and is more true to the original bards tale series.....what's the matter Fargo lost for ideas old man?

"Death and drek," you curse as you encounter a game like so many others.

Will your stalwart band choose to

    (F)ight or to
    (R)un?

    "can't see stats screens etc"

From what i remember about this remake, the idea was to get away from traditional rpg 'nonsense' and try and inject it with fresh, less time absorbing gameplay so that players have more time for the more important parts of the game.

That sounds rather like it's going to turn into a hack and slash fest ;)
