So missile command and tempest... what are the other horrid monstrosities?

Another DS game to make splendid use of the dual screen gimm... uh, system. I still can't quite put my finger on why most publishers fail to come up with anything to use the touch pad properly.

Transcontinental disclaimer: Yes, pun intended. Oh, and some sarcasm, too.

I've played Missile Command on a touch-screen before. It's one of the few retro games that does work really well on it. It's much quicker to move around the screen than a trackerball, so consequently the action can be that much more hectic.

I've no idea how they managed to fire onto the top screen in that shot though. The flak is meant to shoot to where you click then explode there, at least in all versions I've played.

the only way i can think you could fire onto the 2nd screen (where the input method is the stylus on the bottom screen) would be you having to hold on a point on the first screen, charging the rocket to go in that direction past the point you've clicked

    /needs a lie down now

Hmm this standard of release really makes me want to go for the DS... NOT. Come on Nintendo give us something original rather than breathing life into corpses that should be left to the tomb of Mame and dodgy market traders "all retro games in console in one" devices.

Well, this is down to Atari rather than Nintendo. Short of forbidding Atari to publish the game (which would be daft), I'm not sure what Nintendo can do to stop Atari churning out this kind of stuff!

And some people might want it... somewhere...

Hmmmm... Should I provoke anger with a comment about how fitting a game this is for the DS :D

    -probably not!

Here in the US, you guys are missing out. Super Mario 64 DS is THE funest game on the DS, funner than the one on N64! I'm not a raging fanboy, PSP does look awesome, but it's NOT OUT!!! And, original Atari games are fun as hell!
