The game's built on the Unreal Warfare engine, offers a first and third-person view and downloadable levels from Xbox live and PC online.
You fight through space in an attempt to uncover a myth about the nature of humanity, using your normal guns n' ammo, aswell as vehicles and whatnot. This game differs slightly from others though, when you take into account the special powers that Gideon Wyeth (you) can develop. All sorts of jazz from Telekenesis, to blasts of energy, to energy shields are at your command, levelling up the more you use them.
The game uses a 'flick lock on' system to target enemies, whereby you'll sort of flick the analog stick (on the Xbox version) and lock your sights on to an enemy, freeing up the other buttons for bashing.
The story's been written in collaboration with Orson Scott Card, a well known Sci-fi writer (apparently), and has a full musical score played by a 70 piece Hollywood union orchestra, and sung by a choir.
There's more information on their homepage.

IIRC there was a version of the unreal engine (with associated online bits and bobs) that was licensed out by Epic under the banner "Unreal Warfare". It's symantics only really, but I think that might be waht they mean?

As to Advent, it's basically a mixture of The Matrix, Star Wars and Halo. And like those three, it will be released as a trilogy of games.

There was a rumour at some point that Unreal Warfare was going to be an actual game, but I haven't heard anything about that for a long time.
