The orignial Supereme Commander was LAN heaven for me. Superb game! I'll be building my next rig based around this games specs (hopefully in 18 months time).

Excellent game, but it would explode the laptop I am currently using. I'd like to see what they do with the sequel though, a sort of campaign map approach would be excellent.

Square have obviously realised that the JRPG is not everybody's favourite genre.

Amazing news! We had to wait 9 years for the Total Annihilation succesor but only 2 or 3 for the Supreme Commander one!

I have been a tad dissapointed that no one has taken the approach of this game and tried to make a decen World War 2 RTS out of it. Company of Heroes was good, but it felt more like Saving Private Ryan (small regiments and more tactically focused) than a proper war game.

The current Square Enix would rape their own mother if it made them money. They've already ruined final fantasy and the rest of their franchises, the only good stuff they bring out is third party.

It has been proven time and time again that when Square step out of their genre they just aren't that good.
Still, it's been a long while since they've ventured so perhaps they've stepped up their game? I'll reserve some cynicism for later =P

So glad to hear that SC2 is coming. I love the first one and the potential for something really epic in a sequel is huge.

My own wish list would have to include:
- More detail when zoomed in, the landscapes tended to be pretty barren and uninteresting when zoomed in
- weapon types (possibly switching regular units between projectiles, plasma, etc for different effects)
- greater diversity in units between the factions, not just at the top level.
- more customisation options for the Commander (take some lead from Demi-god, allowing changing the commander into an all out combat unit or a resource unit and other possible configurations)

Also it might be a good idea to implement a system like in the Total Wars games. I agree with the weapon diversity, that was something that wasn't as good as in Total Annihilation.
