Speedball 2 heading to Steam
Kylotonn remake this month.
Frogster and Kylotonn's PC remake of Speedball 2 - recently renamed "Speedball 2 - Tournament" - is set to be sold through Steam at the end of November.
The game's due for release at retail in the autumn and will, for better or worse, use the same authentication technology as Steam operator Valve's Orange Box.
Speedball 2 - Tournament is (fairly obviously) a remake of the Amiga classic of the same name. We visited Kylotonn a little while back to see what it's like and discuss its plans, and you can catch up on that and check out videos and other bits and bobs on the Speedball 2 - Tournament gamepage.
Just make sure you don't mistake this one for the Xbox Live Arcade release, Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe, which is a straight port with some updated graphical options. Confusing, eh?

Far too much looking back in the game industry. Especially where $$$ are to be made, this stuff should be given away for free not rehashed and released (XBLA I'm looking at you). Emulators/Old hardware FTW in this case.

Besides, at least this one is a proper remake and not just a quick rub with a graphical wet-wipe.
