Spector plans two more Epic Mickeys News

Wii News by Oli Welsh

4 November, 2009

Warren Spector has said that he's already got two sequels for Epic Mickey planned out, although he doesn't know if they'll get made. The famous designer said that he always plans to make multiple games in a series.

"I don't do anything that isn't extensible," he told 1up. "And I will certainly feel like that I have not done my job if we can't make other games in this world with these characters. In my head, I've got two more planned."

But being in Warren Spector's head doesn't necessarily mean seeing the light of day. "In the business world of reality, those games have not approved, and who knows if we'll ever see them," he said. "I had three games planned for Deus Ex, and you see where that got me."

Spector also said that Disney owns the rights to everything his studio Junction Point was previously working on, including the game rights for John Woo's Ninja Gold, and that the studio is already in the "early concept phase" on another project.

Oh bloody hell no, not another one...

"Hello there, I'm making a game. You don't know if it's any good or if you'll even buy it yet. Hey, we don't even know if we're going to sell even a single copy of it yet, but you know what, I'm going to bore you to tears right now by telling you that we are going to make a TRILOGY. Yes, tri-lo-gy. Have you ever heard about that before? It's such a great concept I thought of all by my self and that no one has ever done before. I'm sorry, I seem to foaming a bit at the mouth lately, but could you lick my drool off the floor and swallow it as well?"

Eraser: He seems to realize he can't make a trilogy and will probably make a proper ending in Epic Mickey, he just has ideas where to go beyond that. What's a problem with announced trilogies is that they usually cut their story up to make the whole trilogy one story and each part worth less than a regular game.

The only planned trilogy in games that I can think of that has/will be a tremendous success is Mass Effect. Epic Mickey is hardly on the same level of quality from preliminary reports.
