Publisher SouthPeak has splashed out and acquired fellow label Gamecock.
The deal's likely to raise a few eyebrows; outspoken Gamecock boss Mike Wilson has often criticised companies releasing games in order to please investors, and SouthPeak became a public company earlier this year.
Benefiting from the extra funds and reach of SouthPeak will be Gamecock titles Velvet Assassin, Mushroom Men and Legendary.
Games from SouthPeak include Monster Madness, Roogoo, Two Worlds, Edge of Twilight and X-Blades.
Still, no more Gamecock, and we so liked thinking up puns.

I do love your headlines here as much as the next jaded gamer with a panto sense of humour (genuinely so) but it has to be said:-

Best thing GC released so far was Stronghold Crusader Extreme (which i must get round to playing)... but most of their library of games looked alittle boring.

Well that didn't take long. I had high(ish) hopes for GC and its promise to deliver new and quirky IP's, but when most of them turned out to be bollocks, followed by that stupid spat with John Romero (I think), I stopped giving a toss.
Dont think I own a single GC-published game, and I'll buy any old rubbish sometimes. |
