SouthPeak gobbles up Gamecock
Titles to benefit from bigger resources.
Publisher SouthPeak has splashed out and acquired fellow label Gamecock.
The deal's likely to raise a few eyebrows; outspoken Gamecock boss Mike Wilson has often criticised companies releasing games in order to please investors, and SouthPeak became a public company earlier this year.
Benefiting from the extra funds and reach of SouthPeak will be Gamecock titles Velvet Assassin, Mushroom Men and Legendary.
Games from SouthPeak include Monster Madness, Roogoo, Two Worlds, Edge of Twilight and X-Blades.
Still, no more Gamecock, and we so liked thinking up puns.

We could call that a draw but they played their joker in that they used the following:-

Dont think I own a single GC-published game, and I'll buy any old rubbish sometimes.

But also, I really really want Velvet Assassin to be good. I love the idea and the setting . . . but it very probably won't be good. To me, it's the only potentially quality game in the (now ex) GC stable.
