Didn't know Shenmue 2 came out on Xbox. The 360 is my first Microsoft console.

That's my excuse.

"Hmm. This (i.e. paying again for something I owned back in the day), or SC4? "

Do you have to choose? You buy both of course. I know i will.

I just bought it and played for about 30 minutes.

The revamp looks a lot rougher than I thought it would, but I haven't played SC since the Dreamcast days so I'm probably looking at it with rose-tinted glasses.

The gameplay is spot-on and I like the way it controls with the 360 pad (unlike SFII).

Worth 800 points? If you have fond memories of the original and don't fancy paying 30-40 notes for the latest version, I'd say so.

No Mission mode is a bit of a disappointment, though. :(

Played it for about 20 minutes yesterday with Maxi ( my favourite) and i loved it even more than i thouth i would. Bringing back memories. And the game looks incredible. None of the "new" XBLA games look as good as this and certainly none of the classics except maybe Ikaruga the other fantastic Dreamcast game.

edit: and yes the 360 controller worked surprisingly well with this game.
edit2: and the achievements are fantastic too. Im getting 200/200 on this eventually.

No wide-screen, no mission battle? Pass. I still have my Dreamcast if I want the original, anyway...
