Plus: Collector's Edition has a plushie!

Sony's given LittleBigPlanet 2 a 16th November release date in the US.

Eurogamer's investigating a European date.

Sony's US PlayStation blog broke the news alongside revelations of various regional retailer pre-order deals.

The publisher also laid out the contents of the LBP 2 Collector's Edition. Inside this is, YES, a plushie Sackboy; LBP-themed book ends - the weighty bits for shelves to stop books falling off; 11 pre-order and two exclusive costumes; and five LBP2 PlayStation Network avatars.

The Collector's Edition will cost $80.

As great as it is to hear about LBP2 (and believe me I'll be getting it on release!), the plushie isn't exactly big news - everyone who signed up to LBP's YouTube channel got a free one.

SCEE better not screw us over. Can't really import this cos DLC from the UK store won't work with a US version, and I doubt my UK content from the first game would transfer over.

I hear ya crumpled paper

I imported the original because of the delay in release in the UK over that song... So i've had the US version for ages, bought a bunch of US costumes and such and a couple of level packs... picked up LBP 1 for UK a few weeks back for �3 because it runs much more smoothly for me and purchased some packs i didnt get with the US version.

So, hopefully they release it in the UK , but if not, i still have a good enough reason to import it due to DLC

You forgot to mention the the article Rob that Sony are once again doing retail specific BULLSHIT preorders. If I've got the good grace to pre order your game, reward me, don't punish me for where I shop.

CE will be bought regardless as I'm a LBP nut. I hope the boxart is unique.

Lee - the CE comes with all the preorder costumes, at least. So if you get the CE, you won't miss anything. I hope SCEE does the same.

I don't normally go for limited editions but considering LBP is not only my favourite game of the generation but also my most played, i think depending on the price i'll go for the limited edition.

I'd say it also suggests a Toy Story Pack (Can't imagine just the aliens having a costume now when we've go so many other great characters.)

And we know that Insomniac were wroking on a R&C level pack last year. I'm guessing MM have held it back to make use of the new game.

That's me getting the collectors edition. Just up to SCEE now to make sure that the UK actually gets the collectors ed for this and that it's priced properly, in this case about 50 quid if we apply the exchange rate reasonably correctly.

How much of the money from the collector's edition actually goes to the developers, compared to the standard edition?
