Sony US unveils new line-up
Buzz PS3/PSP out in autumn.
Sony America has coloured in the remaining blanks on its release schedule for the rest of 2008 and early 2009.
The most newsworthy appearance is the addition of Buzz PS3 and Buzz PSP to the line-up, with both versions set to launch this Autumn.
Meanwhile, the first episode of the Siren: Blood Curse PSN series is due to appear this summer.
Elsewhere, there was only one first-party release for the PS2 on the schedule. Helps it stay active.
Sony America went on to boast that the PS3 momentum was stronger than ever in 2007 thanks to Blu-ray becoming the sole high-definition disc format, as well as from strong sales from last Christmas and the success of titles such as Gran Turismo 5 Prologue.
More than 8 million people have registered on the PlayStation Network now, apparently, and downloaded around 140 million items.
"For the second half of 2008 and beyond, we will see a spectacular line up of triple-A titles and original gaming content that will satisfy PlayStation fans across the board," said Scott Steinberg, Sony US smooth talker.
The entire US line-up is as follows:
PlayStation Network titles
- wipEout HD (Summer)
- Elefunk (Summer)
- PixelJunk Eden (Summer)
- Siren: Blood Curse (Summer)
PSP titles
- Hot Shots Golf Open Tee 2 (June)
- Secret Agent Clank (June)
- NBA 09 (Autumn)
- BUZZ! Master Quiz (Autumn)
PlayStation 2 titles
- NBA 09 (Autumn)
PlayStation 3 titles
- SOCOM: US Navy SEALs Confrontation (September)
- LittleBigPlanet (October)
- NBA 09 (Autumn)
- BUZZ! Quiz TV (Autumn)
- MotorStorm Pacific Rift (Autumn)
- Resistance 2 (Autumn)
- Killzone 2 (February 2009)

Damn, looks like that May 29 date that was thrown around a while ago is looking more and more unrealistic. Well, let's hope it's at least going to be June rather than August. I really, really want this game

"Mmm quality over quantity..."
I've stopped downloading the weekly stuff on XBLA found it really wasn't worth the time anymore. I'll probably buy 3 out of 4 of those PSN titles.

It would be an idea wouldn't it? But if people keep buying them in their millions I'm not sure they have to. They must be making a tidy profit on the machines sold these days - what ever they are used for.

They need to sort out globally releasing stuff properly and getting demos of each game released too, but I think they have got quality, diversity and pricing much better than XBLA.

I really wish developers would keep quiet about games that are obviously a long way off completion and only announce them when they're actually nearly finished. I remember Rare announcing Diddy Kong Racing just six months prior to its release on the N64 and that was a very welcome surprise and one we didn't have to wait too long to play. Wish more developers would do that instead of stringing us along with teaser trailers and gameplay videos up to a year before they're released. Sometimes it's agonising...

Unless Wipeout is a nice £15

Also it's worth pointing out that this is a US list. Buzz will be out over here long before Autumn.

Sony need to push PSN titles more though - PSN have some very good titles now but we need more games. 3rd party games are not on the list which is worth mentioning.

"I fear that by the time Wipeout HD finally does come out, I'll have lost all interest in actually playing it. :?"
Every single time I see someone say that about a game title (and that seems to happen quite a lot with more or less delayed titles - which this really isn't), I really have a rather hard time believing they seriously mean that
Are you really telling me that you'll just magically lose interest in a potentially fantastic title you've been looking forward to - and in this case one with virtually no direct competition - just because it's coming out a few months later than expected?
Even if I had to wait until next year - which would obviously piss me off to no end - I have very little doubt I would buy it on the release day anyway.

You got to be kidding. I have both machines and out of that lot all i want is resistance and kill zone 2.
On the 360 i want fable 2, Ninja gaiden 2, 2 Human, GOW2 and Grid + more a 1 titles comeing.
Yes i know Grid is multi platform but if you have playd the demon on both mashines then you will find that the 360 versin kicks arse.
