Sony unveils more Killzone 2 DLC News

PlayStation 3 News by Robert Purchese

20 May, 2009

Sony has announced a second map pack for Killzone 2 called Flash and Thunder. It will be released on 11th June.

Inside are the Beach Head and Southern Hills maps from the original Killzone on PS2. They've been remade, obviously, the former to be a claustrophobic coastal affair and the latter to be a hilly compound-storming sniper's paradise.

Pricing is still "TBC", according to a SCEE spokesperson, but the Steel and Titanium map pack released in April cost GBP 4.79 / EUR 5.99, so expect the same again.

Head to Eurogamer TV for the world exclusive first look at Killzone 2 Flash and Thunder map pack. It's nearly done!

Sony is pretty gunho on their announcements. Usually they save up all the stuff for one massive E3 burst. :/

Well, it could mean that they got something reall special in store for us come E3.

Anyway, I must be the only one who'd be more interested in an expanded single-player pack.

When are they going to do splitscreen, that would bump the sales.

Great, if only there were games using the current map pack this would be welcome!

As it stands there are about zero.

jambo I noticed that too, really quite annoying as Wasteland Bullet is the best looking of all of them.

Jambo's right. What's the point if nobody plays them?

These levels may be beautifully designed, but it's a waste of money without an automatic matchmaking system (a la CoD4 or H3) which'll pair you with other map-owners.

Just enter the games titled "Vekta" or "New Map Packs". Works for me.

Since the map pack came out ive never not been able to find a game on them when ive searched, i dont know about setting to worldwide, i just search for the 2 maps specifically. Always 3-4 servers minimum playing them. I guess not the hundreds of servers running the original map but i can only play on 1 server at a time.

I normally only play bodycount. Maybe if I don't filter game types I will be able to find them.

Hopefully these won't have errors like the last bunch. It's distracting when half the map dematerialises infront of you for a second or two.
How about fixing those first Guerilla?
