Sony reveals Resistance for PSP
Plus LocoRoco 2, Super Stardust Portable.
Sony has backed up its commitment to PSP by unveiling several new titles during its E3 press conference.
The biggest of these was Resistance Retribution, which will be created by Sony Bend studio and once more follows hero Nathan Hale as he climbs and shoots his way past hordes of Chimera alien baddies.
It looked very similar to its PS3 sibling, albeit in shrink-o-vision, and will be out in spring 2009.
Of the other PSP titles mentioned for the future, LocoRoco 2, Super Stardust Portable, Patapon 2 and Valkyria Chronicles got our attention.
We also heard about Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Madden NFL 09, NBA 09 The Inside, Buzz! Master Quiz and LEGO Batman.
We only glimpsed these on a showreel, mind you, but got excited nonetheless - not least because nothing else had happened at that point. Or at all, you might argue.
Sony boss Jack Tretton also unveiled a brand new Entertainment Pack for the US. This will be targeted at a younger audience and include a silver PSP, Ratchet & Clank Size Matters, National Treasures 2 film UMD, 1GB Memory Stick DUO, and a PSN voucher for echochrome. It will cost USD 199 (GBP 100).
"Frankly we've always felt that PSP is one of the keys to Sony owning the living room," said Tretton.

Yeah, they're ports and spinoffs, so what? Resistance PSP looks really good! Super Stardust Portable looks great too, and Buzz looks fun.

Seen some shots of Resistance and graphically, it looks very faithful! Much better than 3D efforts like Coded Arms. Appears to be a 3rd person shooter.
