Sony films return to NXE Netflix shop News

Xbox 360 News by Robert Purchese

26 November, 2008

Films by Sony-owned Columbia Pictures are once again available from the on-demand Netflix Xbox Live service.

That's encouraging for the US-only initiative. Only last week the entire flock disappeared in what some people alleged was an anti-Microsoft manoeuvre. How terrible.

Everyone appears to be friends again, though, and Kotaku says the best of the Columbia Pictures batch are sitting pretty on Xbox Live.

There's been no explanation from Netflix, other than a statement issued last week claiming some licensing hiccups and a solution "shortly".

Lovefilm sort your arses out and get this going here.

Also, Microsoft sort your arses out and get 4oD and iPlayer and others on the XBox somehow.

"Drillbait Tayler"

Is that the porn version of Drillbit Taylor? ;)

If it had been "Tailer" the fit would have been perfect :D

@ The Bodybuilder

Thanks to HD DVD/Bluray I'm a HD whore, and when MS said HD downloads I thought that meant REAL HD movies ;) The SD versions are just plain awful quite frankly and not worth the money.

Also, I dunno about now, but most films were just stereo as well, which is a crime!

Is that why Dexter disappeared? Is Showtime a Sony-owned company?

I'll have to check tonight...

Yes indeed, not sure how this is news for europeans who don't even have the service.

Much ado about nothing, really. It was obvious from the get-go that the films would have return. Why did EG even bother to report it in the first place?

it was quite funny when news broke that Sony movies were removed from the service most of the commenter knew for a fact that this was clearly a case of sour grapes

Guess they kissed and made up?

So all the dickhead anti-Sony bitching on the last thread turned out to be nothing more than dickhead anti-Sony bitching then?

There's a suprise.
