Sony announces 3D line-up

MotorStorm, GT5, Sly, KZ3, more.

Sony has made a big song and dance about supporting 3D during its E3 press conference and said which titles will offer it on PS3.

Headliners include Killzone 3 - an extended demo of which was shown in stereoscopic 3D for everyone in the audience at the conference - and Gran Turismo 5, LittleBigPlanet 2 and MotorStorm: Apocalypse.

The rumoured Sly Raccoon Collection is another 3D-supporting title, and consists of HD updates of the excellent PS2 platform games.

Third parties aren't being left out either. As previously announced, Crysis 2 will have 3D support, as will Mortal Kombat 9, NBA 2K11, Shaun White Skateboarding, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and TRON Evolution.

PS3 will also receive stereoscopic 3D Blu-ray Disc movie support later this year.

Is it bad when the most exciting thing so far is the HD remake of a PS2 trilogy?

Bring on the future, but this is a forum... so bring on the naysayers. All I can say is well done to Sony for making this actually happen in this generation, and even to MS for the Kinect thing, no one can complain we're not getting our (their?) money's worth this gen from our consoles.

    Plus 1 to you citizenhunter.
    Bring on the future indeed.

    BUT,(and it's a big one), 3d gives me a headache/eyeache as I found out with avatar.
And I have no interest in waving my arms about like a runway attendent on meths(as i found out when I bought my wii).

So I applaud, the companies for taking us to the future, but I'm in love with the present.

Now where's my controller.... Oh yeah , on that big comfy sofa, in front of the HD tv.

Sony is really hitting its stride. As a technology manufacturer, there's no arguing with the quality and comprehensiveness of their line up. They're ticking every box IMHO.

Nope - that's par for the course for a 360 fanboy like you.

So far, a very unexciting E3 for me.... it's all about novelty. 3D and motion control.

If only 3D TVs were cheaper. I'm itching to get one. I was really impressed, shocked even, when I tried one out. So much sharper than the rubbish in the cinema.

I have never seen a company commit commercial suicide with so much glitz and fireworks.

I got to play a demo of Motorstorm in 3D in Japan last week (at Bic Camera in Shinjuku). I was a little disappointed... First the screen appeared very dark and colours under-saturated due to the glasses. But more worryingly the framerate dropped quite frequently and the textures, especially on the roadside objects, seemed to be of quite a low resolution and appeared to change - almost how I remember original PlayStation 1 games. Hopefully a final release will be slicker.
I'm not actually sure what version of Motorstorm the demo was for as I didn't see a menu. But "Motorstorm 2" was being advertised quite a lot. I'm guessing this is the name for Pacific Rift in Japan...?

Eh?!? Oh, you are talking about Kinect. Well that makes sense then.
