SOCOM: Confrontation beta delayed News

Sony has pushed the US public beta for SOCOM: Confrontation back "a few days" to 5th September.

Those subscribing to PS3 online show Qore will get access a week later on 12th September, according to the official US PlayStation blog.

The mid-October US release date is also still set in place, and Sony promises the public beta will run for a full month so people can get plenty of practice playing soldiers.

However, European release date, prices, and beta timings for the PS3 tactical online shooter are yet to be confirmed, despite plenty of opportunities recently - Games Convention, for instance - to do so.

We are expecting an update shortly though, so we'll let you know when we hear more.

Update, 1.45pm: Here's the update then. We'll be giving away 6,000 keys shortly.

This actually looks quite good, I hope there's a beta for EU, or at least a demo before release.

There is already a confirmed "multiplayer demo" for EU which will run for the same period as the US beta. It was scheduled for Monday but pushed back to Friday along with the US.

However there is no official way to get into the beta/demo. Just make sure you post something on the official SOCOM HQ boards (http://community.eu.playstation.com/play... and apparently we will be automagically sent an email (I don't hold a lot of hope but that is the theory).

Within the Socom series, Europe is always left behind; and I mean, always. This is no surprise, at all.

Europe is a piece of shit of the end of their foot in regards to Socom; always has been. Its sad, really.
