Snowboarding combat game on the way News

Wii News by Robert Purchese

12 November, 2008

Hudson has unveiled a WiiWare snowboarding game where players use weapons to "blow away the competition".

Dubbed Snowboard Riot, the game will feature weapons ranging from homing bullets to invisibility, and from mines to turbo boosts.

Balance board support is in, although there are mixtures of control options for people without. Plus there's Wi-Fi support for up to four friends.

There's a total of four characters to pick from, which is handy, and Oakley must have thrown in some money to get what appears to be equipment exclusivity.

There's no word on a release date just yet, nor any indication of a date. But, judging by the first screenshots, Snowboard Riot should be worth keeping an eye on.

@DFawkes not sure I understand your comment, however can you elaborate on your view on Shaun White Snowboarding as i have it on preorder and am concered due to it being ubisoft and the lack of reviews so far..... (it was cheap otherwise i would wait)

Of course. Right at the top of this page is an advertisement on Shaun White Snowboarding, that frequently crashes my browser entirely, and when it doesn't it causes some serious keyboard lag. On this basis, I am not buying it. If their attempts to advertise their game mean my EG experience is hurt, they can, as I said, screw their parents.

This is no reason for you not to buy it though. It'll probably be an average snowboarding game at worst. I can't see it not at least being playable.

Thanks, I see now..... I just wondered if you had played it.... I manged to get it preorder from Amazon for originally 24 quid and then it went down to 18... assuming they honour it its no great loss as i can sell it for more than that.

My expectations are as fun as say SSX with online MP so i shouldn't be too disappointed and hopefully it will exceed those...

Can't I'm at work. Can't install anything at all, though I suppose I shouldn't be on anyway. But at the appropriate lunch hour, it's shit. I shouldn't have to go to the bother of installing a new browser, then a new add-on, just to make a page readable.

I say again, intercousre with your parents Ubisoft. Even if you did give me my PS3.
