SNK classics coming to Wii, PSP and PS2

Fatal Fury! Metal Slug! And so on.

SNK has announced plans to release 16 titles from its back catalogue as a compilation.

It's titled SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1, and will be available for PSP, PS2 and Wii.

For fighting fans there's Fatal Fury, Art of Fighting and World Heroes, plus side-scroller Burning Fight and weapons-based effort Samurai Showdown. Not to mention King of Fighters '94, the first instalment in the popular series, King of the Monsters, and zombie-basher Sengoku.

If you're more into guns you might prefer Metal Slug, which according to the press release has "long been regarded as the benchmark of side-scrolling purity". Or there's futuristic shooter Last Resort plus run-and-gunner Shock Troopers.

Sports fans get Baseball Stars 2, golf game Neo Turf Masters and football title Super Sidekicks 3. And finally there are two platformers - Magician Lord, in which you play as heroic wizard Elta, and Top Hunter, where "you play as Roddy or Cathy, and protect the Colonists from the threat of the Space Pirates". Brilliant.

SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1 will be out on PSP and PS2 this autumn, with the Wii version "to follow".
