SingStore update this Friday
Proclaimers! Braxton! New Kids! Foreigner!
Sony is adding another meaty update to the PS3's SingStore this Friday.
Leading the 33-song influx has to be Toni Braxton with her ballad "Un-Break My Heart". [Rob is clearly too young to appreciate it is in fact Foreigner who top the list. Now this mountain I must climb feels like a world upon my shoulders. - Dep Ed]
Also on the list is "Step by Step" by New Kids on the Block, who were all ridiculous but we watched the cartoon about the band anyway. [In this order: Jordan, Joe, Jon, Donnie, Danny - Dep Ed] There's some Shakin' Stevens, Foreigner and Leonard Cohen too.
Songs cost GBP 0.99 each from the PS3 SingStore.

Where are the classic sing-along tunes, eh? U2 from The Joshua Tree era, Crowded House, Guns 'N' Roses, Bon Jovi (who could resist 'Living on a Prayer'), Warren Zevon's 'Werewolf of London', anything from the early Oasis albums, 'Bohemian Rhapsody'... A quick browse through HMV would reveal hundreds of classics.
More left-field choices would be very welcome, like Bjork, The Postal Service, The Flaming Lips (pre- the most recent and very disappointing album), Pitchshifter, Killing Joke, The Jam, The Clash... Oh, and Bill Bailey's 'Cockeny Medley' too.
And personally I'd love Straylight Run's 'Existentialism on a Prom Night', but that's just me.
There really is no excuse for putting dull songs on there. Come on Sony London, buck your ideas up.

Singstar works on pitch detection, so GnR just wouldn't work as it has no discernible pitch, tune, melody or merit.
And anyone who doesn't see the potential for harmonising duet Letter From America greatness is just stupid.

I'm hoping Common People (Pulp) will get a Singstore release so I don't have to buy Vol 2 and disk swap

Where are the Kings of Leon?
Record companies are moaning about not being able to make any money and at the same time, licensing this drivel. No thanks!
