After playing the first one on VC it's obvious why they have chosen to release this on the Wii. The first one was great and the Wiimote pointer should make the whole experience even better.

Hmm. I better get into the VC one again. It was really hard and I gave up due to the controls. But this I can see myself playing, but would hate to play a sequel without completing the first one first.

I want to see the 'Cock Keeper' in action.

Maybe it has some special abilities.

That's one of the best written and most genuinely enthusiastic pieces of games journalism I've read for quite some time.

Cheers.

"In a similar way to other on rails shooters such as Panzer Dragoon and Rez, the camera moves along a fixed path - leaving you free to move your character around the screen using the nunchuk. In contrast to other on-rails shooters such as Panzer Dragoon and Rez, the camera wheels and dives with unmatched drama."

The camera moves along a fixed path... or wheels and dives with unmatched drama? Got me confused there for a sec.

For me this looks like this is the year of the Wii though. There's plenty of good stuff both in the sales bin and coming out.

I'd still rather have them work on RS3, something that will probably be impossible now that Iuchi apparently left the company...

Ah well, this will do.

Pikemion:

Sorry for the confusion. The camera does wheel and dive in a dramatic way, it just happens to also be on-rails. A bit like one's view on a rollercoaster, for example.

"Nintendo has confirmed that an online leaderboard will be included, an essential feature in making the pursuit of high scores meaningful"

Hopefully does more then just putting a name on a scoreboard though. Replays like Street Fighter 4 would be awesome.

FUCK! I hate that I suck at shooting stuff with the pointer. My hands are too shaky to get any precision. There are some really cool lightgun style games that I'd love to play but I just can't.

Thankfully Red Steel 2 will be playable using the sword only.

Oh, yes. This sounds (and looks) just as it should. Thank Allah that Treasure are not so hard on their 'no sequels' policy. This is just what Wii needs.

I can imagine it wil be a great game from the articles description.

Whether it will sell more than 2 copies, is another matter. I love Treasue as a developer - bought many of their games on many different systems but I'm not sure there is a market outside of Japan for it - Sad as that maybe.

I'm buying a Wii for this. And I'd convinced myself that I wasn't going to buy any more consoles...

Sod it, I'll have to get a DS as well now, for Bangai-o Spirits!

Sega studios take note - either give Treasure the Space Harrier franchise to develop or sort something out yourselves..

This looks very good for the Wii, I look forward to playing it.

@jaguarwong

Couldn't agree more and this article was in stark contrast to the Wii Sports resort one yesterday- it's informative, told me a lot about the game, the experience and I'm now quite excited for this title.

Understated, challenging games with no sacrifices made for the hardware are exactely what this console needs. I was already aware of this game's pedigree but I'll watch with interest.

This game is perfect for me. I'm kinda shit at shooting with the 360's dual analogue (well, I'm alright), but I'm a mean shot with a wiimote. :) Hurrah! \o/

I'm really looking forward to this one. Looks awesome based on the videos I've seen.

How about Gunstar Heroes 2 after this one is finished, eh Treasure? And I wouldn't mind seeing their stuff on the more powerful consoles. At least then we could have less jaggies.

There's already a Gunstar Heroes sequel on the GBA, triple_a. Unfortunately, about half of it is a retread of Gunstar Heroes; the other half is bog water.

@GWH: That's my only concern.

Gunstar Super Heroes had so much going for it. Improved graphics and controls, compared to the original, but the difficulty and overall game length were both pathetic. Shame. :(

Thanks for reminding me, I remember now seeing something about Gunstar Super Heroes a few years back. But because I don't own a GBA and the review scores were average I quickly forgot about it.
