Hehe, I guess I can let you in on the lingo...
Screen tear is when the image on the screen literally splits in half horizontally, for a fraction of a second, usually when there is a lot going on on screen... it can be very distracting, especially if it happens a lot! Old Splinter Cell games used to do it a lot on the Xbox, and Dead Rising on the Xbox 360 is a particularly good example of bad screen tearing too.
Aliasing is when you get jaggy edges, around everything, but most noticable when it's supposed to be a straight line. The jagged edges have a tendency to flicker as you move around too, giving the whole image a horrible strobing effect, in worst cases. Anti-aliasing is a process the computer/console applies to smooth out the jagged lines, which can be done in post-processing. Like in most PC games, if there is no anti-aliasing setting in the options, you can force it in your graphics card to smooth out all the horrid jaggy lines and make it look a lot better! Unfortunately you don't get that option on consoles so it's up to the developer to apply it. It takes up processing power though so if you game's engine is already very demanding on the console, then they don't apply the anti-aliasing so the game runs at a better frame-rate.
Hope that makes sense. I'm not too familiar with all the correct computer lingo myself...
Here's a wiki link too!
