Silent Hill Homecoming gets release date

It's out in Feb, as is new Castlevania title.

Konami has konfirmed that the next instalment in the Silent Hill series will be released on 27th February.

Silent Hill Homecoming is already out in the States for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. It's "fairly decent", according to our review.

Also coming on Feb 27th is Castlevania: Judgement for Wii. It's a fighting game with 3D environments and a spanky online mode. There's more on the gamepage.

DS game Eledees: The Adventures of Kai and Zero will be released the week before on February 20th. Other Konami titles listed for "Quarter 1 2008" include PES 2009 and Job Island for Wii, plus Rock Revolution for the big three consoles and DS.

Save us Team Silent. Take the game out of American hands. Please give SH6 to the real development team.

I quite like Homecoming. It sure 'ain't no SH2 but it's fairly good. Most important for a SH game it's got tones of atmosphere...unlike a certain dodgy demo of something bearing the Resident Evil name I played recently......

(In the next SH though let the character move in FP as Siren does, it is cumbersome having to stop dead just to look around)

    "Konami has konfirmed..."

    haha well done...

I'm not sure what to make of this game. The fact that they outsourced to a western developer still leaves a horrible taste in my mouth, but it doesn't look too bad from the videos, and because the score is done by Akira Yamaoka, it still has that Silent Hill vibe...

But I can't rely on EGs review score of the game either, as their scores have been a bit spong as of late...

    Hmmm.....What to do....

EDIT: and since when did 6/10 = "fairly decent". If i'd have known that was the scale on which you were lowering your scores i would have tried alot more games!

EG you really need a chart on the site saying what your scores mean, as you seem to be working on a whole different scale to every other review site out there!

Wow.. im surprised how ranty that was....

    /cools off

What do you mean - Siren isn't in First Person.

    @ jade2001

Actually Siren on PS3 can be played in either 1st or 3rd person. Press R3 I think.

Anyone who wants to play this has surely just imported the US version already...haven't they?

^ Got my copy from the USA indeed.

I'm about halfway into the game I guess...

The SH vibe is partially there. The main character is likeable and the difficulty level on HARD is actually pretty hard ( you'll be really happy to see the next med pack ) The puzzles so far, are pretty simple kinetic puzzles.

So, I'd guess I'd score it about 7.5 out of 10

Hardly - I'm not going to pay for the delivery from America.

It's crap and average at best - get Dead Space instead, so much better.

'Hardly - I'm not going to pay for the delivery from America'

Shipping is free on DVDBoxoffice.com (Candian website i believe), got it at launch from them. It's where i buy all my PS3 games besides the odd second-hand bargin in Gamestop.

Also this is a great game. People are just getting all butt-hurt because it wasn't made in GLORIOUS NIPPON!!!!!!!

Hmmm, Castlevania: Judgment is a one on one fighting game that means real well (combos are pretty elaborate) but has very questionable balance and pretty awful camera. Bordering on unplayability I'm afraid... I was hoping Konami would actually do a proper Castlevania game for Wii. I mean, Order of Ecclesia is excelent so why not do a nice 2D Castlevania game for Wii??
