Shin Megami Tensei DS in spring News

Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey is heading to the US this spring under the watchful eye of Atlus.

The DS role-playing game was awarded 36/40 by Japanese super-magazine Famitsu when released there last month.

SMT: Strange Journey, set in the present day, follows a soldier sent to the South Pole by the UN to investigate some strange goings on. From there unravels a dark science fiction tale, encompassing demons, dark voids and mature themes that tap into morality and introspection.

Like other Shin Megami Tensei games, Atlus promises deep RPG mechanics and over 300 demons to negotiate with and fight alongside.

I did, i think it sucked boring ass. i quit after 4 hours or so. Persona shits all over it.

Devil survivor was brilliant for a DS game, but obviously nothing like Persona. Still, I hope they bring this one over here, importing costs me far too much precious monies :)

This was an expected announcement but very welcome nonetheless. The game looks great and has one of the most distinctive and atmospheric soundtracks I've heard in quite some time. Also, the atmospheric sci-fi-heavy first person dungeon crawling in Strange Journey has very little in common (except demon fusions and turn-based combat, of course) with the perky anime SRPG stuff in Devil Survivor...
