SFIV gets pricey wardrobe overhaul
New clothes for nearly nine quid.
Capcom has released The Complete Alternate Character Costume Pack for Street Fighter IV on Xbox Live Marketplace.
This offers all 25 fighters a new outfit and costs an alarming 1000 Microsoft Points (GBP 8.50 / EUR 10.20) to download. Capcom had previously released these outfits across five bundles for 320 MSP (GBP 2.72 / EUR 3.84) each, however, so you will make a saving.
Capcom will be adding The Complete Alternate Character Costume Pack to the PlayStation Store tomorrow.
Thanks, VG247.

It is a piss take though; should be unlockables depending on game progress. Shame, as otherwise I think SFIV is amazing.

@metalangel, who did you hear sf4 is made of fail from, clearly deluded as it's the best fighting game ever made.

Gamers shouldn't waste their hard earned cash on this blatant fleecing consumers

Bit of a gray area for me. Some shit like Fallout DLC isn't technically a game to me, but also bigger than normal DLC
Ah well, may be expensive, don't really care. I don't mind being part of the problem if it helps games like SFIV or LBP survive the generic game onslaught. And I don't really care if it costs me 4 bucks a week. I pay that shit for Live and hardly ever use it as well. Plus I only paid 38 euro's for the game to begin with.

You already did... by buying the fucking game in the first place.
Saying that, the Championship edition was a nice FREE DLC addition so they made up for the costume gayness malarky.

The costumes are an optional extra. If you're fine with your two colours, then happy days for you. I certainly understand why game companies see DLC as a golden opportunity to make a little more profit. The industry is rough, companies do what it takes to survive. That's the way of business. If you choose not to buy these costumes, the core game still works exactly like it should, and you're getting everything you paid for. I honestly don't think Capcom is ripping anyone off with this.

apart from when you look at the ad next to the article and it has the full game at £28.99 so you are paying almost a third of the price of the game for something that essentially just a cosmetic 'upgrade'
of cause you dont have to buy it if you dont want to - but really 8 quid plus is a stupid price for something that doesnt add any gameplay or any real value

Then you don't really have a right to an opinion then do you? Besides, I literally can't think of a single other recent (as in the last few years) fighter I've played that didn't have a cheap boss character. Tekken 5, Virtua Fighter 5, and particularly DoA5 (the worst by a million miles) all had ridculously cheap characters.
Saying that though, I find Abel a hell of a lot harder to deal with than Seth.
Back to the topic though, I can't remember as much moaning when all the costume packs were released seperately at a combined 600 points more than this, nearly twice as much. Granted 1000 points is still way, way too much, but there seems to be more of a furore over it even though they are now cheaper!
But then, I work in a convenience store, and know all too well that too many consumers complain over multipack stuff being too expensive, but then go and buy the single units instead which works out a lot more. I call it 'perceived value', which means that even though the price initially looks less, when you think about and a do a modicum of research it is actually more expensive.

They weren't just 'reskins' though, they usually included new characters, moves, stages, music and a more balanced fighting system.

Good story EG!
