SF IV and Bionic dates unconfirmed News

PC DS Xbox 360 PlayStation 3 Wii
News by Tom Bramwell

5 November, 2008

Capcom has told Eurogamer that release dates for Street Fighter IV, Bionic Commando and other titles which appeared in the British trade press yesterday were retail guidance rather than confirmed launch dates.

It also denied that a PC version of Resident Evil 5 will be released on 13th March alongside the PS3 and 360 versions, reiterating that it has not announced a PC version of the console game.

Trade magazine MCV reported the guidance list, which is distributed to retailers to help them plan for Q1, and which claimed SF IV will be released on PS3, 360 and PC on 20th February.

It also listed Neopets Puzzle Adventure (Wii, DS, PC) for 23rd January, Bionic Commando (PS3, 360, PC) for 13th February, MotoGP (Wii) for 20th February and Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop (Wii) for 27th February.

Officially, SF IV and Bionic Commando, most notably, are still considered "winter 09" releases, and the PC version of SF IV is unlikely to launch at the same as the console versions.

In other words, it's all more of a forecast than a pledge.

Indeed. But releasing SFIV the week after Bionic Commando (if these are the dates)? Are they trying to hurt me!

These probably arent the dates. But from what ive seen its seems that Capcom are following their tradition of releasing their games in Q1. Resident Evil 5, SFIV and BC in Q1 2009.

Oh it's fine. If HD Remix is anything to go by, as the month and weeks draw closer we'll have Capcom going..."Rub your hands in glee, because it's anyday now!"
