Serious Sam's Second Encounter dated

April on PC, TBC on Xbox 360.

Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter has been announced for PC and Xbox 360.

The PC/Steam version will be released on 28th April for £17.99. Pre-order and you'll receive 10 per cent off that price, plus an Ugh-Zan (the first game's big boss) model for multiplayer.

The Xbox Live Arcade version is being published by Majesco, although we don't know when, yet.

Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter was released for PC around a month-and-a-half before Xbox 360. PC owners can buy the game for £11.99, and Xbox 360 owners for 1200 MSP (£10.20/€14.40).

Serious Sam is an exaggerated shooter without a complex plot. Developer Croteam's aim was simply to arm you and then spawn lots of different types of enemies in your vicinity. How you coped formed the core mechanic of the game.

These HD versions are remakes, of course, and they come with shiny new graphics and four-player co-op.
